This post is just to introduce some of them to you and we can expound on them later.
1 - PEAK VAULT WALLET INTEGRATION
Peak Vault helps the HIVE blockchain be more decentralized by no longer being dependent on one single wallet that can sign transactions on various hive websites. PeakD.com loves Hive Keychain and now we have another wallet that we wholeheartedly recommend specially for new users.

The PeakD team had a lot of feedback and say in the layout and design of this wallet hoping for a focus on very easy and intuitive User Interface perfect for our users.

The proposal for this open source product built by @peak.open needs more votes to be funded. https://peakd.com/me/proposals/311 - Despite the lack of funding the developer decided to keep working and we have released the wallet with hopes it gets users motivated to vote.

@peakd team has integrated Peak Vault into the website and hivehub.dev and riseofthepixels.com also has it integrated in their sites usually using a simple SDK (which makes it easy to login with lots of methods)
2 - WALLET PAGE UI
A while back @lordbutterfly indicated that some new users were confused by ALL hive wallet pages and he made some suggestions. We decided it was about time to make some visual improvements to our page.
We have an ADVANCED view and a SIMPLE view.
If you are a power user we default you to the advanced view if not you start with the simple view and you can easily change back and forth.
The layout has changed a little and the wording as well.
We are looking for your feedback both for yourself and what you think will be the experience of new users.

3 - NEW MAP + WorldMapPin Support
The day after @HiveFest presentations and after hearing the @worldmappin presentation we decided to integrate a map into our site. We now officially have it live for everyone to use.

4 - NOTIFICATIONS UI

The wallet page no longer includes a display of SBI units. Intentional or oversight?
The code is still there but currently the section is hidden. Reason is that I've not been able to use their API for months. cc @josephsavage
It took us a lot longer than I would have liked to get it back up. We had to reach out to the freelancer that originally built our API layer. It should be running again now finally.
Yes! Finally you guys integrated the @worldmappin 🥰 With everything @worldmappin are planning to implement this will be super tool to use.

Pretty cool additions! I haven't checked the map integration yet, but I've seen the wallet with its two modes, and it's a good way to handle complexity by breaking the options and explanations down for a basic and advanced view. By the way, a new account has "advanced options" turned off by default?

If a web app already works with HiveKeychain can it also talk to Peak Vault?
No, not out of the box.
We created a javascript/typescript SDK that you can use to reduce the amount of work required to support both. Feel free to reach out if you need more details

If I get it from the link and not the chrome store, does it still automatically update?
Right now the extension is only available on Firefox store. Chrome store is still pending Google approval.
If you install the extension manually (zip archive) you have to update it yourself.
These new updates are really interesting. Looking forward to them 😊.
How about a feature where one gets to see just posts by the author and another section for reblogged posts

It's amazing how some of the options in HIVE WALLET have been redesigned. Simple and straightforward, even in the advanced versions.
Trying Vault extension (Firefox). Two things: 1. the black on black color scheme (background and input box) is hard to see for me or maybe that's my browser settings and 2. typo on "Confirm passowrd".
Now what we are missing is short posting like Buzz, Waves or threads.
These are great changes and has got me thinking of how I can use the map integration to great effect for posts coming up. Will make it just that little bit easier. Nice work!

The wallet was better before, visually simpler. Now it is not understandable at first glance. It needs a better way to separate the modules.
I also don't like the gray of the rewards in the posts, it looks like they are muted.
I think the wording helps newbies who are used to “stake” for the Hive case. Although HBD savings was better as it also keeps Hive saving.
Can you elaborate on this a bit more? New wording can be confusing for advanced users, but graphically the layout is way more "separated" compared to the previous version.

The white lines I drew are the most important. Since the first thing we see and look for are the quantities and on that right side we need a quite visible divider, unlike that gray line which is not visible.
If the white seems too strong, it can also be a lighter gray and a little thicker.
I also think that for newcomers, it will be confusion that Hive with 3 days withdrawal is called “savings” but HBD with 3 days withdrawal is called stake just like Hive with 13 weeks withdrawal.
Newcomers sounds probably just ignore HIVE savings. Best case scenario they will never learn about it 🤣

The updated features are nice. I particularly like the Notifications breakdown without having to go into the OTHERS menu and search for the options. I'll try the VAULT extension as I use Firefox.

I don't know if this is available, but I would really like the value that appears in posts to be able to be modified to show it as being in a certain currency, such as dollar ($), Brazilian real (R$), euro, etc.
I have been showing the peakd frontend a lot to newbies to try to onboard them, as I think that today it is the easiest frontend to teach and for them to learn, so if it were possible to see the equivalent of the configured currency in dollar signs, this could make the newbie more familiar with the values.
I want to see Peak Vault & Metamask Snap Proposal get funded as soon as possible. That will enable you to build even more things faster. Most people don't want to install more extensions and MetaMask is the most popular wallet at the moment. Allowing them to interact with HIVE will be useful towards bringing HIVE back into Top 100 cryptocurrency.
It's a massive update in Sep with many new and useful functions. 😍
