Disclaimer: This is not financial advice. If you follow hat I am doing you d so at your own risk. This strategy is likely to change and can change at any time.
Sorry it's taken so long for this post. I will try to be brief and to the point. I also am assuming that those reading this have a basic understanding of the DVS token.
TLDR:
I will be increasing my delegations and buying tokens as needed to keep up with inflation.
My basic strategy lines up with one of my longer term goals-to have more Hive power. I have been slowing increasing my delegation to dhedge and will continue to do so as I am able.
I also do plan to purchase more tokens as needed. I want to keep up with and get ahead of inflation so my goal is to grow my dvs holdings by 25% or more a year.
The least riskiest way to do that is to increase delegations. I already planned on increasing my Hive holdings by trading/swapping other crypto for Hive.
I plan on buying more DVS after I finish up with my big 420 HSBI giveaway.
Side note: I plan to do more "bonus: giveaways to speed this up.
After this I will essentially use my earnings to purchase more DVS. Basically compounding. I wont be using all of my earnings to do this. it all depends on how much I am earning from delegating. I will likely buy a little dvs before the giveaway series is completed, but most of my purchasing will happen after.
I do not plan on selling any dvs for now at least not on this account.Though in the future that may be a part of my general Hive strategy.
I may sell some from my fundraising account @spoonies to boost the funds I give to charities. I will likely buy those tokens directly from this account. This way I can support that account and get more DVS for this one. I will also purchase from the market but the fundraising account gets priority if there are tokens available.
I do plan to continue to grow the staked dvs on the spoonies account as well . I'll probably do something like a 50/50 split. Half of tokens gained from delegation will be staked, the other half sold to this account. Something like that. Those percentages aren't fixed.
I need to balance out purchasing and delegations and will adjust as needed.
I will be saving some of my HP to delegate to a new project that is launching soon-ish TBD. This new project is unrelated to dvs/dhedge but is on topic for this post I think.
I'm not trying to be mysterious, the details on how the new project will work are still being hashed out. I will share more details as I can. This is not my project and I don't have all the info yet.
I am mentioning it in this post because it does affect my dvs strategy a little.
Diversification is a good thing.
Please feel free to share your dvs strategy in the comments. I am also open to suggestions especially from folks who have better math skills than I do-which tbh is probably most people lol
Diversification is always smart! I'm still picking up some DVS to increase my up votes, before the "bug" I was number two or three on the rich list. Oh how times change....
Can't wait to hear about your mystery project! My main focus is increasing m HP right now too.
How are you holding up?
It's not my project it's a buddy on mine's. I am brainstorming some stuff about it though :)
I am doing oddly well. Except pain, and orthostatic intolerance my energy and cognitive function is pretty good for me. We had a minor flooding issue (just a toilet no big deal) which involved needing to do shit in the middle of the night (the night before last). Normally this would cause a major PEM crash as I had an asthma attack during the debacle and definitely exerted myself. But no sign of PEM after more than 24 hours.
How are you?
I'm glad it didn't put you into a crash! Plumbing issues are a pain in the ass..... Fortunately my dad taught me how to fix all that kind of stuff when I was young! Asthma sucks too, I have it as well but over the years I have moved a lot and every time I moved the allergens were different. It actually made my asthma a lot better. I hope you keep feeling better, keep it up! A positive attitude helps I find when everything else absolutely sucks!
Thanks for sharing your DVS strategy!
I bought an initial amount of DVS at the price of 1hive, afterwards it climbed and than the exploit happened. At first, I thought I lost a couple of 100's hive. Ofcourse not nice, but nothing which I couldn't deal with.
I decided to go for it and up my stake when it got dumped.
Now I have 1000DVS, which I'll hold on to but at the moment I'm not looking to buy more.
As you say:
So I'll just HODL and enjoy the votes in the meantime! :D
Same boat here. I paid more than 1 hive for my dvs, then the big dump happened and I bought a ton super cheap(split between a couple accounts)
For DVS and other similar tokens I don't really pay attention to the price, but I do pay attention to the value. With these tokens if the price drops and you've been getting value for the tokens regularly you can still be ahead in terms of what you spent for the tokens and the profits you have received even if the price of the token tanks. My opinion anyway.
I agree with you!
Need to take the whole picture in account, the value of the token is one thing, but it's the total of value of the token + distributed rewards (+ risk) :D
