Been a while since I've posted anything into the Hive Gaming community, with my recent travels I've only been able to have a cheap laptop with me that I found so gaming hasn't really been much on my radar in general along with being quite busy getting back into everything Hive. But every now and then I find myself logging back into World of Warcraft and looking for something competitive to do to relax myself.
Since I'm now halfway around the globe compared to the servers or realms my characters are in I haven't been able to do a lot of dungeons or PvP with other people, it's not that I haven't tried but after a few times blaming the death on certain players I failed to heal in time to ping or lagspikes it kind of got old, especially since no one believed me which I don't blame them since it's the oldest excuse in the book. Getting tired of being called bad, shit, worst healer I've seen, etc, I found something to do that I can do alone but is equally as competitive in a way to group playing; Thorgast.
I've posted about Thorgast in the past but it's been so long since I used to play it that there's now a ton of new levels added into the game. It's even more competitive since I lack the gear quite a bit due to not being able to do dungeons to get the higher itemlevel gear, but that's what has made it more fun.
Currently I'm chasing the Flawless run achievements in each of the Thorgast wings, I only have one so far before I realized I should probably start recording them as it may entertaining for others to watch all the stupid ways I die in.
I managed to place them all into one long video, titled each attempt and even tried my hand at some editing at the very end (see if you notice).
Something to keep in mind for these flawless runs, you have to attempt and clear all objectives and also do it quick. They basically entail freeing a lot of trapped souls, killing everything you see, opening boxes, etc. Thorgast is a fun mode that reminds me a little of Diabloe but with the WoW style, you can also play them with other players but it's probably best I don't attempt to with my current internet connection which is not just slow/delayed but often also spikes at random which can cause a few deaths here and there, but at least others won't get mad at me when I'm alone.
Flawless run also means no death, dying is I'm pretty sure automatically a failed attempt which you won't be able to overcome, thus all the attempts in the video below where I reset any time I die.
Let me know what you think of the video and if I could improve on it in the future. I was thinking of doing live voiceovers during the attempts as well but the AC here is pretty loud and I couldn't figure out noise compression before I gave up on it, maybe that would make them a bit more entertaining since they are pretty long, but of course, feel free to skip a lot of them once you get the gist. The final clip starts at 2:39
Sending part of the post rewards to @hivegc to help the community account grow as I usually get a lot of autovotes and don't deem this content to be that reward-worthy, I may increase it in future videos where there's less text in the posts explaining what I'm doing in the video. Thanks for watching!
I played only the first months after the expansion release and good to see that they improved Thorghast. It's a cool feature, but not my favorite. Sometimes I got the right orbs and it was too easy and then I got nothing and it took too long for me.
I had more fun in Mythic+ Dungeons. Sad that you have such a bad ping :(
With randoms it's hard as healer or tank. I had no ping problems, but as tank if I didnt know the perfect route or mob pulls there was also blaming.
So I only run with guild members and in Discord and had more fun :)
Yeah never played long enough to bother looking for a guild or group I'd always run them with, switching people every day is just such a hassle, always something going wrong.
Maybe at some point when I have less things to do on Hive and more free time I can look to get back into some serious raiding/mythic push.
It's been a long time since I've seen a post from you here, you were missed, although your sexy voice is missing. You're still playing WoW, nice. I remember that raid where you were with a bunch of people and they died several times haha, you also showed us your items in the general chat, it was a long time ago.
Haha here it's common to say "I have lag", but people answer you: "Mental lag". It's a bit annoying that they don't believe you. Hope to see you more here. 😛
You tried for 3 hours and you did it. Not to forget 7 minutes. I found the game too complicated. It's like there are 100 skills you can use. But it was worth watching to see you succeed. Of course I didn't watch all of it, but I can say that I watched 30% of it. I wonder how you felt when you finished, was it enjoyable or frustrating?
More like relieved :D hopefully the other wings won't take as much time and attempts as this one did, maybe it's cause I'm just getting back to playing so was a bit rusty! We'll find out soon :D
I think this changes a lot. I remember, I played League of Legends one year later and I was using flash to move by accident :D
Thorgast!!! Is it a charactr in the game? Is it the character that you choose for you?
I wonder how many times can you reset after dying? Does it take some credits for the rebirth?
It's basically a gamemode, sort of like dungeon crawler that hasn't existed in WoW until shadowlands!
There's no limit to resetting but each death damages your gear so you may run out of gold repairing if you do it too many times.
I seeeeee.....
The wow really is one of my favorite games, I played until BFA because I had problems with my CPU, Shadowlands did not play it because of time problems but from what you say the rate of players per realm has dropped a lot, with the lack of players usually demand a lot to the few remaining players because they rush to knock down the content, I played a long time TBC Classic, it was the same, there came a time where the servers were low population and it was very hard to get people.
You should record the Thorgast, I think it's the game mode that is like an intermidable castle, honestly it should be with voice because it's much more fun to listen to the reactions hahaha. Shaman Enhancement was too much fun, I never learned how to use the healer, it's too much pressure for me.
Yeah I agree, will try and add voice in the near future :D
Hopefully the next season of One punch man will be out soon. will you play for Wrath of the Lich King Classic? we can organize to play many of hivegc on one server.
Depends on where I am, the thing I like the most about WoW is the PvP (if I have some people I can play it properly with), but playing that with 250ms like I have done lately from Asia is just not going to work out, lol.
Nice profile pic, btw, waiting for the next anime season ;D
Seems pretty decent of a update kind of makes me want to jump back into it again. WoW has always done a good job and expanding but still targeting their loyal fans.
Thorgast was pretty much the only thing I liked about Shadowlands. I played it a bunch instead of tormenting myself through daily and weekly stuff.
