Headed back to Hogwarts 🪄
here. After watching every single Harry Potter movie, we were left wanting more. Most people would think of reading all the books, but I personally had zero desire to do that. There was another option that I can't believe I did not think about at first.@flowerbaby and I have been on a bit of a quick for wizardry over the past month. You may or may not have seen my post about dressing up and going to Wizardfest. If you missed that, you can read and view all of the photos
For some reason, it dawned on me that the LEGO Harry Potter Collection video game was a thing. I've played some LEGO games before, but it has been a while. I had never tried the Harry Potter LEGO game though, just like I missed out on the films for so long.
@flowerbaby tends to keep my Nintendo Switch with her, although she rarely plays it. I thought to myself, maybe she would love the LEGO Harry Potter Collection. Might it be the game that turns her into a gamer? So I searched the game up on the Nintendo Game Store and lucky for me, the game was marked down from $50 to only $12.50. It was an instant buy, especially since the sale was ending the next day. I was able to secure the deal just in time.
The game includes every single year of Harry Potter's time at Hogwarts. That means you can relive the moments from the movies, except without the characters having voices. This is an older LEGO game, so they hadn't upped the quality like the newer games now. I figured it would suffice for our Harry Potter craving, maybe we could even play coop together sometime.
Sadly we have yet to play the game still and I bought it like 2 weeks ago now. I think @flowerbaby has at least started the game, but she was annoyed by the inability to skip the cutscenes. I cannot verify if there is or isn't a way to skip. I thought the story was the best part of Harry Potter, so why skip, right? I'm pretty sure @flowerbaby just doesn't like video games as I do.
Oh well, at least if we ever get the desire to play some Harry Potter together, it is now an option. Have you ever played this game?
Remember how I said I wrote a blog and have a bunch of awesome photos of @flowerbaby and I dressed as wizards? Well, click the image below to check that out anytime you'd like.

I promise I will bring the switch this weekend so we can play :)
I’ll believe it when I see it 😉![untitled.gif](https://images.hive.blog/0x0/https://media.tenor.com/images/b73bdac567dadb9fc9cac65cfbbd0cc8/tenor.gif)
Our poor Switch, just trying to find its way back to its little dock.
I love the Switch and the third-party games have got a decent discount recently. Sadly the first-party ones are very expensive, Nintendo loves money...
The Switch is a novel device. Many will try to emulate what they have there. If Nintendo would offer a more powerful system instead of just that OLED screen, they'd really be tough to compete with. Their first-party games hold their value very well. You will never see them coming to PC like Xbox and PlayStation exclusives always end up doing.
I think that having exclusives is a bad practice for the industry. Sony on this point did well to port their exclusives to PC, it becomes more democratic. Companies that don't trust themselves need to resort to intellectual property. This is illustrated on the Switch by how weak the hardware is, if Nintendo ported it the Switch would be useless, differently from the PS5 and the XSX that although weaker than PCs and even without the exclusives are competitive for the affordable pricing.
PS Vita came before the Switch though and promised something similar but with relatively higher specs for the time it came out. I just don't understand how the Vita failed but the switch succeeded, maybe it was timing, or maybe indeed it was the exclusives.
Nintendo is Nintendo and probably always will be Nintendo.
I really don’t get how the Vita failed either. Did you see my latest post? Looks like Sony may be eyeing the mobile market once again.
Just saw it! I hope they do come back. The Switch is fun but expensive, maybe a little competition could be healthy!
LEGO and HP, that's a great combo! I wonder how it plays on a console though, I imagine it would be pretty cool. Love the LEGO HP physical collection!
This game seriously has so much content too. I've always been a fan of the simple gameplay of LEGO games. I'm pretty sure Switch has gotta be the worst platform to play it on, but it is definitely playable at least. I'm just so spoiled with my PS5 running everything optimally.
This reminds me that me and @emuse didn’t finish year 5-7. We consisted 1-4 then left off there for some reason. Probably to play something else. Enjoy it mate! This game is awesome. For some reason collecting buds and destroying lego in a game is very satisfying.
Dude you all have gotta get back on that objective eventually. Sounds like you just confirmed that the game is worth playing. I know that breaking things and collecting was fun years back. Their formula is simple, yet enjoyable.
I actually forgot that it existed, haha! 😅 Maybe we should try it again?
You will have a lot of fun 😁 played them loved them. Koop is the best part :)
Did you play through the entire collection? That is a lot of gaming. I do a ton of gaming, so I'm not hating. I just haven't ever been able to play a LEGO game for that long. I always start craving other types of games.
Yes I did. I really enjoyed it. Played the Star Wars and Hobbit games of Lego as well. But never alone. Always with a friend of mine while watching the films while playing :D Sounds stupid but it was fun :D
Star Wars is where most of my LEGO experience is from. That and some Marvel. Playing with somebody makes those games tremendously more fun, you are correct.
Films while playing, not that is pretty crazy. Multitasking at its finest.
Haha you can also make a drinking game out of it. :D
HP is an all time favorite.
Generation Charleston has been in talks of creating a Wizardfest for Charleston. That would be pretty cool.
