That sounds like a normal day in game development from what I have experienced so far.
Great to see you guys are motivated and keep moving forward.

Never knew how much actually went in to it, and our game is not even that complicated!
Hope your game is also going strong! What do you think of the new Unreal Engine? Something you might use eventually?
From the demo project they put out, I learned a couple of things. UE5 is a massive ram hog. A lot of things also require a graphics card with raytracing to take advantage of it. I think the demo had a min of 64 gigs of ram. I could not really do much with UE5 since I lack the hardware to get the full experience.
It’s doubtful I’ll be converting my current UE4 project to UE5 one day. Although it is updated to a UE4 version that is supposed to make it “easy” to convert to UE5. Perhaps when I get a new computer and start a different project I’ll be using UE5 instead. Many plugins I use do not support it at the moment.
While it’s cool there are performance savings for higher-end systems. Allowing many billions of triangles from meshes in a single scene without lag, if, you have the right graphics card from my understanding. They also made it clear it’s not to be used for a production-level project for at least a year.
They are also bringing tech from UE5 into UE4 when they can. So I suspect many will not be making the switch since they don’t need to. They even updated the EULA so many newer UE4 projects will fall under the same one they are using for UE5 which looks much better for indie developers.
That is an insane amount of RAM. I checked a lot of the tech demos and they blew my mind. To think 10-20 years ago we were happy and amazed at the graphics then. UE5 might be one of the biggest game changers yet.
I guess in a year or 3 your tech will come far enough and cheap enough that you can take your whole project to UE5...
Best of luck with all your game making man!
