UPDATE #8: In our previous post we were super wishful by saying we will be going live in 30 days. Even though we knew it was extremely optimistic, all things went well, until they didn't. Hive-Engine had some issues, the HF went live, personal lives... Not making excuses though, the coders are working as hard as they can. The game off-chain is done and working, now making it all work on the chain is currently holding us back a little. We hope and wish that we will only be delayed by maybe 2-3 weeks. With that being said. The next update and testing will be open for EVERYONE! Discord will be open to all and we will do a soft launch. To see where we need to polish and fine-tune a bit. Keep in mind, the game with all the features we want for it is still in the works, but we do want to get a live version out so players can start playing while we fix bugs and keep adding new features.
Current plan:
1: Finish up on some of the main features this week.DONE- 2: Upload the current version to the testers for testing and feedback. DELAYED
- 3: Squash some of the last bugs and try to polish a bit. DELAYED
- 4: Get ready for launch and host a little launch party with prizes and goodies! DELAYED
Congratulations to @mattclarke with his cool Sludgehammer frog idea!
Initial Monster design from @mattclarke:
The final design that will be featured in Unsung Hero:
Sludgehammer
Sludgehammer is a giant frog who lives on frozen lakes. His webbed toes spread his weight on the ice, and his forelimbs smash holes, then he sticks his head in the water and catches fish with his sticky tongue.

Incredible. Thanks, @yunayuna for bringing this to life. I never would've thought of using his stomach as the main contact point like that. Structurally, it makes so much more sense. Love it :)
You have creative design!
Thank you for liking it
It would not be game development without delays and issues cropping up!
Glad you guys are getting closer and working through the challenges. Looking forward to playing this when it comes out.

Thanks man! Yeah, for someone who has never done something like this it just gets crazier and crazier with each delay. Feels like 3 steps forward, 1 step back, 1 step sideways and then all the footprints disappear! =P We are carrying on though, so far so good!
That sounds like a normal day in game development from what I have experienced so far.
Great to see you guys are motivated and keep moving forward.
Never knew how much actually went in to it, and our game is not even that complicated!
Hope your game is also going strong! What do you think of the new Unreal Engine? Something you might use eventually?
From the demo project they put out, I learned a couple of things. UE5 is a massive ram hog. A lot of things also require a graphics card with raytracing to take advantage of it. I think the demo had a min of 64 gigs of ram. I could not really do much with UE5 since I lack the hardware to get the full experience.
It’s doubtful I’ll be converting my current UE4 project to UE5 one day. Although it is updated to a UE4 version that is supposed to make it “easy” to convert to UE5. Perhaps when I get a new computer and start a different project I’ll be using UE5 instead. Many plugins I use do not support it at the moment.
While it’s cool there are performance savings for higher-end systems. Allowing many billions of triangles from meshes in a single scene without lag, if, you have the right graphics card from my understanding. They also made it clear it’s not to be used for a production-level project for at least a year.
They are also bringing tech from UE5 into UE4 when they can. So I suspect many will not be making the switch since they don’t need to. They even updated the EULA so many newer UE4 projects will fall under the same one they are using for UE5 which looks much better for indie developers.
That is an insane amount of RAM. I checked a lot of the tech demos and they blew my mind. To think 10-20 years ago we were happy and amazed at the graphics then. UE5 might be one of the biggest game changers yet.
I guess in a year or 3 your tech will come far enough and cheap enough that you can take your whole project to UE5...
Best of luck with all your game making man!
Hope I'm doing this write!
Creature Name: Absent minded
Water based lurker that is quite furious when attacked however if you manage to evade long enough it will forgot why it was attacking. While it prefers damp climates but is known to wander into other areas, drawing on its water reserves as needed.
This is beautiful! Very interesting design indeed.
Thank you!!
Hi, i want to participate from this initiative.
Creature name: Thornback Armadillo
This passive jungle creature lives dig'n roles around the forest ground, in a dangerous situation he can close his shell to frustrate and make your enemy get hurt before giving up. But he is not a fearful creature, if you irritate him you will suffer a thorn-sharp rolling charge.
We like the thorny little fella! =) Thank you for your entry
thank you :D

So many awesome drawings... a nice way to get some inspiration and sharing. I wish it could be more, but I guess it will come when possible. Just trying to help with the initial steps where I can... which are probably the most challenging ones.
Will be here as usual. Following the progress.
Cheers
