Razer's portable console leaked for the first time

We here on the team really like the concept of portable consoles. In recent years this market has been dominated by the great Nintendo Switch but a few months ago we received the announcement that Valve intends to enter the market and challenge the Switch with the Steam Deck console expected to arrive in February. But now we get a new leak that implies that the Razer company also wants to take a bite out of the mobile market cake with a new console that it is working on. In recent years we see that Razer intends to be more of a hardware company than a peripherals company when it launched a line of laptops a few years ago and a few months ago also its first screen. So the reports of a portable console do not particularly surprise us.

According to a report published on the Videocardz website, it appears that several slides from a Qualcomm presentation were leaked to the net. Qualcomm is the world's leading mobile chip maker and according to a number of different reports it's working on a chip which is intended for gaming called the G3x. Apparently in order to showcase the capabilities of the G3x the company is collaborating with Razer to develop a portable console (currently it's just a Dev Kit) based on Android. According to one of the slides, the console will have an OLED screen at 120Hz, a 6000mAh battery, 5G support, two cameras and Haptic Feedback.

5G support is important in this case as according to various reports the device is expected to rely heavily on game streaming services like GamePass, Steam Link and the like. But as mentioned the console is expected to be Android based so it will probably be possible to install various games and emulators from the PlayStore as well. Right now these are all the details we have about the Razer portable console but we can no longer wait to get more information about it.

It's going to be interesting to see how it turns out. I know valve has said the Steam Deck is just going to be practically a mini computer with access to Steam, so there isn't going to be any exclusives for the console.

Yea, interesting to see what's going to happen, i guess we'll see
