December 1st was the last Hive Power Up Day edition of the year. You might as well call a spade a spade: it was not one of the best PUD.
The lowest number of participants and amount of HIVE powered up of the year. This was to be expected with the recent HIVE price pump. We saw a couple of PUD posts that mentioned they almost didn't because of it.
Regardless, that hasn't stopped a decent number of users from indulging in their favorite start-of-the-month activity. This shows how much participation in this challenge has now become part of our community's habits.
It must be said that this edition was quite special with @victoriabsb's brilliant idea of allowing two participants to become Orca for a month thanks to the 50k HP delegation offered by @blocktrades and @theycallmedan. Best way to end the year on a high note!
A few words from the PUD organizers
Happy last month of 2021, everyone! And what a way to finish out the year - not only is Hive at an all time high, but we also have the special Orca Month prize (thanks to an awesome idea by @victoriabsb) to celebrate everyone spending the year growing their accounts. And another awesome Power Up Month is done and dusted - thanks again for the shiny new badge, @hivebuzz!
Though with all the excitement about our ATH, it seems like fewer people powered up, and some of those that did (from what I gleaned in some of the posts I saw in my feed) might not have staked as much. Not at all surprising, and I have to say that I'm wicked thrilled and proud of the community for powering any up at all!
So (and as I say every month, but I extra mean it now), a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this Power Up Day by powering up, posting, and/or shouting out on all traditional web 2.0 social media. All of those things help shine a light on our blockchain home, which in turn helps to grow our community. Special thanks to @hivebuzz for always BEEing such an incredible buzz-maker for Hive Power Up Day. And here's to all the happy Hiveans who are increasing their voting power and influence on the blockchain! See you all next year for the first Power Up Day of 2022!
Even though the HIVE price is higher than previous months, community members still try their best to show up and participate in today's PUD, not only for the prizes but because they have now made it a tradition to do so, and with the Orca Month prize we will be able to reward 2 lucky of those participants with well-deserved delegations
What are the PUD stats of this month?
As usual, let's start first with those who choose to help others grow, the Power Up Helpers, as those are the ones who deserve the most attention.
We have 12 users who have made a power-up to another account and have thus allowed 12 people to get their PUD badge. Together, the helpers gifted 2734.234 HIVE!
Here is the complete list of helpers and their donation:
@fulltimegeek (2504), @blocktrades (114.13), @v4vapp.tre (20), @litrbooh (15), @traciyork (11.11), @coccodema (10), @egistar (10), @fermionico (10), @hiveupme (10), @melinda010100 (10), @pogier (10) and @samsmith1971 (10).
A huge thank you to them all for their generosity! Show them some love by upvoting one of their recent posts.
We now have 166 users who helped at least one less powerful user who never got any power-up from anyone. These benefactors got the so coveted Power Up Helper badge:

(List by number of helpees)
Remember that the number of people you are helping will significantly influence the delegation we will do to you.
Let's now take a look at how you did against the previous editions:
As mentioned at the beginning of this post, we have a shy number of 314 participants. It's not the best, but not the worst either.
Regarding the volume of HIVE that have been powered-up, it is inversely proportional to the ATH price we had: 39264 HIVE powered-up. We now have our own ATL and things can only get better from then on.
Let's now look at what happened with the distribution of power-ups:
Congrats to @synrg (10037,313), @namelessnameless (3618,936), @shauner (2000), @carrinm (1500), @ace108 (1008), @achim03 (1000,45), @tattoodjay (1000) and @ph1102 (1000).
They powered up at least 1000 HIVE and got the Jumbo-Bee badge.
Hive Power delegations
Since the beginning of this year, we are rewarding regular participants and those who have also been generous in helping others by offering a 3 weeks Hive Power delegation.
To be eligible for a delegation:
- you must have participated in this Power Up Day.
- You must have performed at least 5 power-ups on Power Up Day. Power-up received from another user is not taken into account.
- 4 of these 5 power-ups must have been done on the last 5 Power Up Days (including this one).
To compute the amount of HP delegated to each user, we use the following criteria:
- The number of power-ups performed.
- The number and levels of power-ups you have performed (ex: you made two "level 3" and three "level 5" power-ups).
- The number of people you helped to power up and the amount involved.
This month we will delegate 5066 HP to 107 users
Congratulations to all of you and enjoy our delegation!
Hey @hivebuzz - thanks for the write up... yeah I did figure that there might be less powering up than previous months with the giant leap in Hive price. Even for those that haven't been taking some gains by selling off some hive there have been other opportunities (I'm looking at you 2nd layer tokens going cheap!).
Anyway still a pretty good showing I think and I powered up as much as I could possibly find. It's a great thing to do every month! See you all next time!
Thank you for participating in the PUD @tdctunes. 💪🐝
See you next month.
Great job calculating all of the details! @traciyork @abh12345 and what a wonderful and kind thing to do @theycallmedan and @blocktrades by supporting us minnows and sharing the ORCAhood with us! You guys ROCK!
And a HUGE congratulations to everyone who participated again and to all the newcomers, keep up the good work!
I can't wait to the first PUD day of 2022 as is there no better way to start the new year with than all of us around the world getting together on the one day to POWER UP the WORLD of Hive and beyond!!!
Thank you @chocolatescorpi
Hello @hivebuzz. Thank you so much for the delegation. I certainly appreciate it and your support not only this month, but all year.
Have a great holiday season. Take care.
Thank you @justclickindiva. Have a great holiday season too. 🌹
Congratulations to everyone who powered up
Thank you @houdaben
Congratulations to all of you who were able to participate in the last HIVE of the year. A great job done by many behind the curtain of Hive to make this a reality. I hope I can be present at the next PowerUpDay, I must stop just wishing and be there to experience the satisfaction of a Special Ignition, the first day of the year all together at Hive. We are a nice family and may life allow me to make it to the first PUD in 2022.
A virtual hug.
See you at the next Power Up Day @parauri
😉
Congrats to All
Glad it went so well
Have the best one @hivebuzz
😎
Thank you @benthomaswwd, we wish you the best too!
Have a nice weekend 😊👍
Thanks @hivebuzz
Have an awesome weekend
I clicked on this after getting my 'you posted 250 times' badge, or something.
I honestly would need a glossary to understand this, you have a very interesting tribal dialect - powerup, orcas, 'helping'...
Please read the HiveBuzz user guide to get all explanations about levels, notifications and their meaning.
It was way more expensive than normal to powerup this time around, but honestly with how HIVE is, a few years from now I'd be glad that I've been powering up slowly. HIVE to me looks like a sleeping giant and we are currently only seeing the start of its meteoric rise.
Looking forward to powering up everyday for the whole month! Hopefully I won't miss a day this time around!
Way to go @pogier 👍
Congrats to everyone who powered up. It was a brilliant idea to have two people become Orcas for a month. I hope to be back on the HivePUD wagon next month. :)
See you next month @juanvegetarian
😁😁😁
So happy to see the Jumbo Bee on my profile now! Thanks for all you do to keep the HivePUD going!
Congrats on your Jumbo Bee @shauner 🎉🎉
Thanks for giving me the jumbo bee badger!!! Loving hive so far and will continue to power up.

🐝 Jumbo Bee? What a PUD! Congratulations!
Thanks a lot!! I just cashed out a coin in my bittrex and manage to withdraw to my acc in time.

You deserve it. Congrats @namelessnameless 👍
I have powered up about ten and after that i could power up 21 because of a win.
This was not a lot, but it is because i am always powering up every few days. I think there are a lot of user not waiting till 1st of month for powerup.
That's why we initiated the Power Up Month.
Congratulations to everyone who powered up on this glorious HivePUD!
I didn't expect any reward for my powerup, so it was a pleasant surprise to receive a delegation! Thanks!
Thank you for participating in the PUD @ph1102. 💪🐝
I get that people cannot afford to buy much $HIVE right now. That is a good problem to have as we are all better off and we can keep right on earning it every day. Just power up what you can. That has its own rewards.
Buying HIVE and powering them up is what some call investment.
Congratulations to everyone powering up or helping another user!
I didn't manage to powerup this month but congratz again to all who did!
Thanks for the mention and the usual update! 🤗😎
You're welcome @trippymane
Sir can I also Power Up.
??
Not sure what you mean by this comment
Sir I mean how can I work here and which kind of content I can post here. And I want also Increase my Hive Power. So Please guide me.
You can find a lot of content on Hive that can help you
https://peakd.com/hive/@ura-soul/hive-user-guide-learn-how-to-join-post-blogs-upload-videos-make-friends-and-get-paid-to-co-create-the-uncensored-hive-community
https://hive.blog/hivebasics/@pitboy/how-to-use-tag-in-hive-blog-a-beginner-s-guide
There are many communities on Hive and every community has some guidelines so make sure to check before posting in any community!
You can also post directly to your blog and there you can post anything you really want.
I guess it's time for you to sit down and do some due diligence and research about Hive, Communities, Posts, etc etc :) Good luck!
I hope the 2 links will help you but there is a lot of info on Hive, you just need to look for it.
Thanks a lot for your favour.
Unfortunately yesterday I had a family emergency and I could not make the post to participate in the Orca prize for a month, but very grateful for the delegation received.
May the force be with you! 🙂
Thank you for participating in the PUD @charsdesign. 💪🐝
Thank you so much.
You're welcome @irvinc
Thanks you so much! ❤️
Apollo tu trabajo bote a tu favor exelente.
I got my little baby bee lol I could only power up 10 HIVE. I really wish I could do more I have been curating a lot on here and want to secure more HP but it is tough. My financial situation currently is not good and this is one of the only ways I'm earning anything right now.
Love being part of this community and this was my first PUD so I will definitely take it and keep trying to add to my hive power. I would like to do the daily power-ups for next month maybe or possibly set my payouts for just hive power. But I don't know what my options will be.
Thank you so much for the mention!
It's really a good initiative to help another when you do not know that they might need that extra HP for emergencies!
