Steam Summer Sale START!

in Hive Gaming3 years ago

It's that time of the year again!
Where we all pretend we're rich for a little while and spend shit loads of money on Steam games we'll likely play for 4 hours and abandon, but with some sprinkled in that become things we talk about decades later.

This is the banner for this year, and while it looks a little boring, at least this year's sale isn't as stale as it could have been.
The younglings among you may not remeber this, but there used to be a time where all Summer Sales were way more than just cheap games - it was fun, tons of cool stuff to do, and lots of great theming all around the store. This year is not too bad either.

The design itself does not look half bad, and there's a little clue mini-game where you can score yourself a badge.

It's been a while since I've last seen Valve having so much fun on their storefront, so I'm all for this.

In fact, it's the first time in years that Valve has brought me any joy. Joy that gets even better as I remember that they're actually starting to do things with TF2.

I don't have much to say about the games themselves, but hey, at least I'm giving you the news - and for the first time in a while, a Steam sale is an experience more than just getting my wallet empty, I'm quite happy.

Something else I've noticed, and I'm not sure if this is the first time, is that they've called this sale the "Vacations Sale" here in Brazil, since it's not actually summer here. At this time of year, I'm usually wearing 2 to 3 hoodies on top of my shirt, so it always felt odd to read "Verão" (summer) there.

It's still a little weird though, since not everyone is on vacation. Winter break usually only happens for school (middle and high) so it feels more targeted towards kids, still, it's nice.
Reminds me of how Nintendo finally gave us the option to play with the Southern Hemisphere option on Animal Crossing New Horizons... And then don't let you change it, making any trips to the northern hemisphere feel weird in-game (as if anyone still played it).

Anyway, have a good one, good luck finding clues, good luck not spending all your money.

The one I want to download still costs too much for my budget hahaha XD

Happens all the time! Hahaha
What game are you interested in? I wanted to get Sekiro, but it's R$99 and I only allowed myself to spend R$50.

Awesome, I'm gonna have to browse through my wishlist and see if there's anything I want. I still live by the philosophy of not buying a game unless I'm actually gonna play it right away. Unless they're cheaper than $3 then I might just grab them anyways.
