This game is an incredible one!
Thanks to Matt for introducing me.
Grocery shops won't close any time soon - they're needed. What I don't understand is the limits on stuff. You may buy more than two things of milk, for instance, to last you a fortnight - but now, through the major supermarkets, "nope, 2 per customer".
This will force people to make additional visits to the shop, which will cause more people to be out at once, which leads to more exposure, which leads to more... well, statistics are statistics for a reason!
Yeah, the grocery stores. 😅 I was very irrational yesterday. I know that they won't close, that they're one of the essential services that really need to stay open. That, if anything, they'll end up restricting a certain amount of shoppers at a time. I just had a "moment" yesterday.
Ugh, the 2-per-customer thing. And milk especially. My son goes through 2L a day, more if I let him. I understand from a more-stock-to-go-around perspective, but from a normal non-panic-buyer's perspective (until yesterday xD) I just want to do my shopping, get out, and not return for another two weeks. Before we end up one of those statistics.
One positive though! My son got sent home from school yesterday because he has a cough -- he has hayfever but I understand their concern -- and hasn't been to the shops since this all began. For the first time he saw the empty shelves...
After what feels like years of begging him to ask before taking out of the pantry, he's actually asking now. He doesn't know much about the situation, just whatever he hears at school and my dumbed-down version of "The Sickness," but those empty shelves really got him.
