In my last My Time at Sandrock post, Lily had saved the day once again and was now waiting for some sort of disaster to show itself once again. It seemed that every time she fixed something, something worse happened.
But for now, everything was a-okay and life was continuing on as normal.
The mayor had returned from a desert voyage and now tasked Lily and Mi'an with crafting PPE to explore a possible pathogenic hazardous ruin.
All geared up and ready to explore, the two builders and mayor proceeded into the ruins, hoping to find some form of algae that could help assist with bringing life to the desert.
They found it in droves.
Exploring the entire ruin of what had once been a Geegle Corporation submarine, they discovered that this region had actually once been an ocean. The Calamity had transformed it into a desert.
Lily found all sorts of goods in the ruin that would be useful for her crafting, and they also retrieved plenty of algae specimens to be studied that would hopefully help with the mayor's grand plan.
The excitement of exploring a new ruin was soon back at the back of her mind as she resumed her duties as Builder, building all the things for all the townspeople.
I even unlocked the last tier of workbench!
Unfortunately, I couldn't craft any of the new things yet. Yan at the Guild Store was refusing to sell the plans I needed to learn how to make the new things. I guess I'll have to wait a little longer before I upgrade everything else.
In the meantime, the algae solution that Lily and her friends risked their lives for soon proved pretty effective. With the algae, a biocrust material was made and swiftly dug into the desert, then we planted trees on top.
Time would tell if the trees actually grew, or if they'd just be swept off into the desert, the last hope of the town dead upon the wind.
While waiting for the trees to hopefully grow, Lily was crowned an honourary member of the Civil Corps. She had done so much for Sandrock so far, and fought so many creatures, it was clear that she was more than just a builder and deserved to be officially allowed to partake in combat wherever danger may roam.
To celebrate, Lily held a party! And invited half the town. Everyone ate copious food, admired the relics decorating the yard, and remarked upon Lily's hospitality.
Not long after the celebration, the local entertainment-woman Catori tried to convince the town to help her invest in making Sandrock into an entertainment hotspot. She had grand ideas! She just needed... some investors to help her plans come to life.
Lily offered her building services, free of charge, whilst several other people offered their hard-earned moneys. Hopefully it would all come to fruition and make Sandrock a popular hotspot worthy of tourists and city growth.
Finally, after several weeks of quiet Sandrock life, everyone in town was called to the desert to have a look at the trees. They were growing! Really growing!
The algae solution used to create the special biocrust was actually working and the trees were thriving. Thriving so much that a journalist wanted to do a news piece on it for the rest of the civilised world to know about.
Of course it didn't go smoothly.
It had been quiet for weeks, no mishaps, no explosions, nothing noteworthy... but then, just as everyone lined up to get their photos taken for the newspaper... Logan the Outlaw swooped down and plucked the Minister right off the sands.
The race was on.
Horseless, Lily and the Civil Corps raced across the vast expanse of desert-lands and followed the trail Logan had left behind.
They had to rescue Matilda.

Until next time! π΅π

I am telling you that we need to find the ruins of a space facility from the *Geegle Corporation...lol
Nice trees, are you thinking of growing a forest in the middle of the desert? π
xD That's exactly what we're doing! Transforming the desert into a lush paradise!!
Pfft it was probably one of these types of parties. Don't Lie!
Nah, it was all nice and friendly. No hidden backstabbery. Although, apparently, in the upcoming Evershine, NPCs will actually be capable of jealousy and such... so I like to think my future parties will be a little more exciting. π
