This is the first installment in a series of RPG video games, released for the Game Boy Advance, distributed by Nintendo in 2001 and developed by Hiroshi Yamauchi.
It takes place in the world of Weyard which is a kind of flat land where there are 7 continents: Angara, Gondowan, Indra, Osenia, Tundaria, Hesperia and Atteka. There is also a group of inhabited islands in the East Sea.
In this fascinating role-playing adventure, players are immersed in a world of mysteries, psychic powers and ancient legends where they must embark on an epic journey to save the world from darkness.

I remember seeing this game constantly in game magazines. I never got a chance to play it on my GBA but whenever I thought about the Gameboy Advance this title would always pop up.

Bro, Golden Sun is a great game, I don't know why they limited themselves to release this game for Game Boy, I think it had the potential to be released on a desktop console with better graphics.
Anyway, the plot of Hans and Felix's story is very cool, with several twists and turns, as for the game experience I got stuck many times in the bitter tree part. Good post!
Maybe it was a question of marketing and economics as the Game Boy was not a console with a lot of best-selling games. I agree with you that on other consoles it could be superior in many aspects.
