This is a role-playing video game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. Released in 2010 for the Nintendo DS, it is a remake that commemorates the tenth anniversary of Pokémon Gold and Silver, which was originally released for the Game Boy Color in 1999.
This title is part of the fourth generation of Pokémon games and has been very well received by fans of the series and new players alike.
The game's story takes place in the Johto region, where players take on the role of a young Pokémon trainer seeking to become the Pokémon League Champion.
Throughout the game, players must capture and train a variety of Pokémon, battle other trainers and challenge gym leaders for medals.

One of the standout features of this remake is the inclusion of the Kanto region, which can be explored after completing the main story in Johto, adding a wealth of content and nostalgia for players who enjoyed the original titles.
One of the most notable innovations in ‘HeartGold’ is the ability to have a Pokémon accompany the player in the outside world, which not only adds a charming visual element, but also allows players to interact with their Pokémon in a more personal way.
In addition, the game includes the use of the Pokéwalker, a portable device that allows players to carry a Pokémon in their pocket and gain experience and items while walking around in real life.

The battle system is turn-based, where players choose strategic attacks and moves to defeat their opponents. The game also introduces new mechanics, such as the friendship system and the use of special moves that can be learned by Pokémon.
The customisation of Pokémon, as well as the ability to breed and evolve creatures, remains a central aspect of the game.
Graphically, it features an improved visual style compared to the original, with 2D graphics that take advantage of the Nintendo DS' capabilities.

Is Heart Gold this edition, where you can participate in this sport events similiar to olympia? That was one of my favourite activities in this game. Next to the Beetle competition, simply a classic. :)
