This is a real-time strategy video game published by Interplay Entertainment in 2000 for Windows 98. Developed by Shiny Entertainment, the game integrates elements of action and other genres.
It was the first commercial video game to make full use of the graphics cards of the time, using transforms, clipping, and advanced instruction techniques. The game was ported to Mac OS 9.2 in 2001.
The game's graphics engine made use of tessellation: thousands of polygons were used to represent an object, with less detailed objects using fewer polygons. By adjusting the level of detail Sacrifice could run on a variety of computers with the highest possible level of graphics.

Sacrifice placed little emphasis on resource acquisition and management. There was no labour and worker system; players' mages collected souls to summon creatures, and mana (energy used to cast spells) was constantly regenerating.
Players are immersed in a magical and surreal world full of fantastic creatures, powerful spells and epic battles.
In ‘Sacrifice’, players assume the role of a wizard who has been summoned by five rival gods to fight on their behalf and gain control of the kingdom.

The most amazing thing about ‘Sacrifice’ is its innovative gameplay, which combines elements of real-time strategy with the ability to summon and control powerful creatures to fight spectacular battles. Every decision you make will affect the course of the story and the fate of the gods you serve.
