Well I would recommend you to play the PS2 GoW, since one understands the history of those that follow without having to play the PSP and tlfn, but if you want to get into depth I would advise you to watch a YouTube video, but as I said for me it was not necessary to play the others only the PS2 GoW, sadly the 3rd I had to watch videos and this good I played it on my pc, and in my opinion I did not feel at any time lost regarding the various mentions of the other games.
