Scream
Joined the SCREAM JAM 2023 game jam last week. The jam ran for seven days and had the theme... horror.
Having worked on ARW for a long time, it felt good to take a break and do a short project. It is also a good opportunity to measure how things have been progressing with the engine and tools. Is it easy to use? Can you be productive?
All in all it worked well. The issues I had during the week was not so much with what I was using to create the game, rather own poor planning or execution.

Dead Cry Death
A very short game based on art that have sprites that are 8x8 pixels large. The submitted game is perhaps not representative of the original idea, but it does let you play through a level with a goal and a possibility to complete it. Having tried the progress version I was caught very off guard ahah. The atmosphere is sharp, the way the lighting works, the clunkyness of the lift. Really loved it. The combat is endering, throwing physics stuff is something every developer dodge a mile away but you have done a great job making it feel correct. My only two gripes with it are that is hard to have knowledge with how much or if with any strenght the throw will follow. I found my self at running jumping and then throwing for greater distances, this make close quarter a bit hard.Second the collision sometimes give the impression of smashing the enemy but then he just shrug them off(though those red guys give the impression of being really tough).
I played multiple times cause I love those interactions so much and picking all those pices to try different approach.
Thanks for feedback! It's a bit rushed with the throwing and impact on the red guys, it is not working fully predictable. I only check the speed of the object on impact and it is probably not very accurate! Would definitely re-work it to be more predictable for the user with more time.
Looking foward to it! Having a blast throwing stuff. By the way does the spear shaped wooden object have some piercing quality? Seems to do more damage when I hit with those.
Not intentionally, but probably something with the shape automatically giving it this power 😁

i love the art to the game. would love to collaborate with you in some way on @stoken.quest. i am trying to involve as many people in it as i can. one of the things i need to make is a Credits screen! and i would love to ad as many people to that as i can. would be stoked if you want to add a touch of your own work to the game :)

I gave the game a try and I liked it. I tried a few times but I couldn't accomplish the mission. Is there an option to shoot? Or do we just run?
Hey! You can pick up objects with space and if you hold down a little while when pressing space again you can throw the object. Good enough hit on a foe will kill it.
It's a bit rushed so not very clear on what to do 😂
