For me the days of having a mobile system are behind me. I think they did the Switch correctly because you can hook up to a proper TV if you are at home. The last portable system I bought was a 3DS and while I am happy I bought it, the only time I ever use it is on a flight which means I have totally forgotten how to play the games I own and also don't have any idea where I am supposed to go next.
I can't really imagine this PS system selling very well.
Truthfully I have no real need for a mobile console either. The idea of a new one in my hand for some reason still sounds awesome.
I know what you mean by forgetting about where you were in games. That ruins the experience for me. The Switch being mobile and a home console is what works.
