Greetings!
Last month one of my elder sisters brought home a Cherry Blossom and Rambutan seedlings for planting around the house. While I was looking for a location in planting the seedlings I noticed that there was no extra space aside from my vegetable garden.
With that being said, I have no choice but to plant the Cherry Blossom and the Rambutan seedlings in my vegetable garden.
Since the Cherry Blossom is a beautiful tree when bearing flowers I decided to plant it at the left-center corner of my vegetable (between my additional squash crops).
In the case of the Rambutan seedlings, I decided to plant at the location of my water spinach.
Below are photographs of the Cherry Blossom and Rambutan seedlings that I am going to transplant in my vegetable garden.

Preparing the Soil for Transplanting Cherry Blossom and Rambutan Trees
After I decided on the transplanting location of the Cherry Blossom tree I dug a hole on the ground (photo below). The hole may look shallow but it is actually about 1 foot deep.
Hole for transplanting Cherry Blossom
In the case of the Rambutan trees, I need to make an elevated transplanting location because it is frequently flooded by rising water coming from nearby rice fields.
The two photos below can be seen the elevated soil that I made for transplanting the Rambutan trees.

After I prepared the soil for transplanting the Rambutan trees it is now time to transplant.
Below is a short video of me while I am transplanting the Rambutan tree.

Next up is transplanting the Cherry Blossom tree and below is a short video of me while adding some black soil and transplanting the Cherry Blossom tree.

Planting Sweet Potato Vines
After transplanting the Cherry Blossom tree and the two Rambutan trees I now proceed in planting sweet potato vines in other parts of my vegetable garden.
Below is a photo of the sweet potato vines that I am going to plant.

Since the sweet potato vines are a very resilient vegetable, most of the time it is a "plant and forgets" vegetable.
And since sweet potato vines crawl, I decided to plant them beside the concrete wall of my vegetable garden.
Here is where I am going to plant the sweet potato vines

That is all for now, until next time.
Your soil looks amazing! I'm jealous!! Hopefully you'll have some bountiful harvests in your future.
The cherry blossom tree doesn't look like cherry blossoms I know. Is it a bit different to the ones we're familiar with?
Your sweet potato vine leaves look different to the ones we grow here, too. Do you know what the root colour will be? I know there are lots of different varieties, but I suspect our climate will limit what we can grow. Ours is rather desert like, but I'm guessing yours is tropical. We mostly see the orange root sweet potatoes here, but I have one growing that I'm hoping will be purple.
I've shared your post in the Garden Journal Weekly.
Thank you, I am hoping for bountiful harvests too (^_^)
Yes, it is a bit different.
If I remember it right, it is purple in color.
You are correct, our is tropical.
Thank you very much for sharing my post in Garden Weekly Journal
cant wait to see the sweet potato vines grow up 😄
Me too! I am so excited, especially when it is about to grow its roots.

Hey bro ang laki ng cherry blossom mo. Meron kami that we raised from seeds. Dami nasa maliit na container. Saka ko na poproblemahin pag nag lakihan na hahahha.
Thank you bro, galing sa farm ng ate ko yung Cherry Blossom, nagtitinda kasi sya ng mga seedlings.
Hi @afterglow , that was quite a lot of plants you planted there. Can't wait to see them grow. I am curious on the cherry blossom tree. Not sure I've seen one here
I can't wait to see them grow too. Greetings from the Philippines!
wow your garden has changed a lot since your last post about removing weeds, there are many type of veggies in your garden are my favorites :). Hope your rambutant and your cherry blossom tree will grow up fast.
I hope so too. And yes, a lot has changed since my last post in removing weeds. Have a nice day ahead.
It is beautiful to have a garden in one's house, you have motivated me, may be in the future when I have a piece of land to grow crops and sweet potato. I like eating sweet potato
I am very thankful that I have motivated someone.
If you want to plant other crops aside from sweet potato you can definitely use pots.
You have great garden to planting all kind of plants.
Thank you very much (^_^)
I have never tasted rambutan, never got the chance to taste it. I am sure you will be happy when the cherry blossom plant will start giving flowers. I have never seen sweet potato plantation, I thought the process is different, similar to potato planting. Thanks for sharing the process... Great garden :D
It is delicious (^_^)
You are right, I am very excited about it giving flowers soon.
Thank you very much.
nice gardening skills. where did you buy the cherry blossom tree?
It is actually given to me by my elder sister who is a seedlings dealer.

I feel you kabayan. gamit ku nga puso tapos hahakutin pa pagdilig ku.
Naku kabayan parehas tayo nakakapagod ang paghakot ng tubig na ididilig.
