It looks like you figured out how to use the scythe pretty well. A sharp blade works well for any of the stiffer grass or weeds, but even when it's really sharp, it's still harder to cut soft grass. You could clean up the handle a bit with some sandpaper and it would be more comfortable to use.
The wheelbarrow that you found should be pretty useful around the garden.
Oh, don't I know about the wheelbarrow ;) I also bought a pitchfork to go with it.
