This afternoon I went to my brother's watermelon garden. The garden is not far from the house, so I can come often to help. Today, I helped my brother water the watermelon plants that were planted several weeks ago. Now, these plants are starting to flower and there are some small fruits starting to appear. It feels really good to see the development of this plant, especially imagining when it will be harvested.
We take water for watering from a drilled well next to the house. We collected them in large buckets, then took them out to the garden to carefully water each plant. Since the weather has been quite hot recently, we have to make sure these plants get enough water to stay fresh and grow well.
While helping with watering, I also brought a camera to photograph several parts of the watermelon plant. I took photos of flowers starting to bloom, fresh green leaves, and small fruit just starting to grow. Don't forget, I also took a photo of my brother who was busy watering the plants. Moments like this are very valuable, because apart from working together, we can also share stories and experiences about gardening.
We planted these watermelons with the hope of harvesting in the middle of the fasting month. During the fasting month, demand for fresh fruit such as watermelon usually increases, so the price is also quite good. This is one of the main reasons why my brother chose to grow watermelons. Hopefully the harvest will be abundant and of good quality.
As I walked around the garden, I saw several plants that were already flowering and some that were starting to bear small fruit. I am very happy to see it, because this is a sign that this plant is growing well. Some plants are still in the early stages of growth, but if they are cared for well, they will soon catch on.
After finishing taking photos, I went back to helping my brother water the plants that had not been touched. We work together so that all the plants get enough water before the sun starts to set. Even though gardening requires effort and patience, there is a sense of satisfaction in seeing plants develop well.
I feel happy to be able to help and document the development of this watermelon garden. Hopefully in the next few weeks, these small watermelon fruits will grow large and be ready to be harvested. I can't wait to see the final results and of course enjoy fresh watermelon straight from my own garden!
That's my story this afternoon in the watermelon garden. Gardening does require effort and patience, but the results will definitely be commensurate with the hard work that has been done. For friends who also like gardening, keep enthusiastic about caring for your plants. Hopefully the harvest will be abundant.
NOTE: I first wrote the article above in Indonesian, which is my own language, then I translated it using English with the help of Goggle.
