Our nursery as of today
(The partial solar eclipse is nearing its peak as I write these lines 🌞)

when I was about 6 or 7 with my best friend, I started collecting any kind of recipients that could serve as a plant pot.
plastic yogurt cups, empty conserve tins, old buckets, anything.
we were spending our time punching holes at the bottoms, carrying soil, seeding, planting.
there were no rules. any plant was welcome, any seed, in any kind of pot.
we had hundreds and hundreds of plants to water and care for each day and we absolutely loved it.
we did not care for names or pedigree, what ever we could put our hands on was welcome.
then "life got in the way". I grew up and did other things and our beloved nursery slowly died off.
I was distracted, as I like to put it for the next 40 or so years, until when my son was born, I wanted him to have the same freedom and closeness to nature as I did, and we moved and bought the farm.
at the beginning, it was a small scale operation to satisfy our own needs.
then, feeling burned out from my 11 year on-line business, I started putting more time and effort into it, until one day on Feb. 2021, I had to close down my other business due to Covid, and the nursery became an independent commercial entity.
it was likely the best kick in the butt the universe had ever sent my way, toward a more local, real world activity that was already dormant in me for all this years.
our plants are sold in local markets on almost every weekend of the month and on site when neighbors / friends swing by to get some here.
we have a variety of native trees, some fruit trees (Pecans are a specialty), medicinal plants and a growing selection of bamboo.
