Greetings, Fellow Planttenders and Greenwatchers!
Last year was mostly an attempt to find small patches of calm and quiet in a world and life full of noise, cares, needs... taking care for some small green things was the way I stole away moments of meditation and feeling meaningful.
I managed to increase the number of plant species I grow and I learned a thing or two about getting small branch cuttings to take root. A miracle, if you ask me. Perhaps the one man made way to help Nature do its thing. Live more.
Among last year's additions to our garden are more lemon, oak, and walnut saplings, rosemary, lilac, and lavender bushes. A second bamboo bed prepared and full. Some Aloe.
I also hope the snowdrops and crocuses like the new ground I am trying to migrate some of their numbers to.
Meanwhile, showing you some of what's already emerging in the urban smaller garden...
Yeah, I am totally planning to leave fallen leaves where they feel comfortable. As a TED or something similar lecturer once said on a video... they are literally called leaves, so leave them.
Now, time to fill some pots with soil and start throwing seeds at it. I haven't yet been able to make any lavender grow from seeds. Or make a basil plant live through winter and into its second year.
Going on a family weekend now but next week I hope I will he able to find the time and visit the rural place and recap the condition and number of the trees that have survived on our turf.
See you soon, I hope.
Peace ✌️
Manol
Great idea. In the new year there will be new seedlings from the seed. A garden will begin.
Since nature saves us, we should also save nature, so let's plant as many trees as possible. Happy New Year to you.
