Brilliant, and very interesting from the point of view from someone just starting out with a biggish plot of land and being a little overwhelmed. I'd never heard of Comfrey before although when I Googled it, I recognised the pictures. I'd be worried it was going to take over the garden like things seem to so easily do here in Thailand!
Rotovator is on my 'to buy' list. A decent sized one will be great for tilling this untended virgin jungle as we have so many roots and junk in the soil to remove. At least I wont need to dig so much before hand-pulling all the rubbish out.
I'll be following closely and reading back for advice so TIA and have a great weekend fella :-)
Yeah comfrey is really interesting. Its a great pollinator plant, the leaves can be fed to chickens and other livestock (not people). And the leaves can make a compost tea or even laying them thick can block weeds from growing.
There are different "bockings" which are strains of comfrey, I only buy the sterile seed strains. Comfrey 14 is a good choice for that as it only spreads by underground roots. I will have mine in planters in the fenced in area so they cannot spread too far.
Nice, you may need to buy a trencher to get through roots.. depending on the size. So far I have only hit hard clay with the roto tiller. Not sure how it would handle roots.
Cool...Thanks bud you too
Thanks for that. We use a plant whose name in English I don't know to bind the 'soil' as we use a lot of back fill when building. It grows horizontally and drops a lot of roots but needs keeping in check or spreads like wildfire.
