Yeah comfrey is really interesting. Its a great pollinator plant, the leaves can be fed to chickens and other livestock (not people). And the leaves can make a compost tea or even laying them thick can block weeds from growing.

There are different "bockings" which are strains of comfrey, I only buy the sterile seed strains. Comfrey 14 is a good choice for that as it only spreads by underground roots. I will have mine in planters in the fenced in area so they cannot spread too far.

Nice, you may need to buy a trencher to get through roots.. depending on the size. So far I have only hit hard clay with the roto tiller. Not sure how it would handle roots.

Thanks for that. We use a plant whose name in English I don't know to bind the 'soil' as we use a lot of back fill when building. It grows horizontally and drops a lot of roots but needs keeping in check or spreads like wildfire.
