RE: Diving For Earth Touch at Koh Phi Phi

I went diving a bit in the past and i loved running into these boxfish. You seem to be an expert of sorts so tell me, do they not have predators? When I was swimming with them they didn't seem all that concerned about this HUGE thing (me) floating near it.

I guess any fish bigger would be a natural predator. The colourations on the juvenile are a form of camouflage as other fish don't see colours - only patterns. Any reef fish that has patterns on its body is utilising a form of camouflage as it can blend in with the coral and rocks that are its home and confuse any potential predator...:)
