Is there anyone here that doesn't like SAMGYUPSAL?
To give you a little background about this well-known Korean food, here's what I searched in the web : Spelled as Samgyeopsal ,a three-layer meat, samgyeopsal-gui or grilled pork belly is a type of gui (grilled dish) in Korean cuisine.
For my source please click here
And did you know that South Korea celebrates Samgyeopsal Day every third day of March? It is said due to the three layered composition ( flesh, fat & skin) of Samgyeopsal .
This time let me share with you one of the *KOREAN RESTAURANTs here in Cebu that serve Aged Pork & Beef and have an amazing service crew. I'm talking about SEOUL BLACK which is located at Streetscape, Cebu City, Philippines near Maria Luisa.
They offered a variety of Korean food aside from Samgyeopsal (grilled dish) such as side dishes that were really tasty and amazingly spiced up. I also noticed that most of the sides are spicy.hehe, if you're not into spicy food I think you will not enjoy it. 😁 But as for me, I can handle spicy food depending on its level of spiciness.🤭😁 So far, all the dishes that we ordered are delicious.
The aged meat is incredibly tasty. It was my first time so I was amazed with the taste.
Here's the food we ordered . You can visit their place too if you want to try too.
This is the menu book, we choose BTS (Best taste of Seoul) & Gang Nam. Since we're seven this set of orders are pretty much enough for us.
Aged Pork Belly On the Bone
Aged Pork Belly with Red Wine
Thinly Sliced Pork Belly and Beef
Perfect combination Japanese Sticky Rice & Samgyeopsal (grilled pork)
The bone was the best part.🤣
Fresh Lettuce
Side dishes are unlimited. As long as you want it, they will serve fresh lettuce and hot like these hotpot noodles.
I really love their side dishes, the best side dishes so far ...
My first time trying this toppoki/Tteokbokki (made of Rice Cake)
Incredibly, delicious.
Sweet & Spicy 🔥😊❤️
I also love the kimchi and chapchae, all in all my experience in this restaurant is amazing and the service is good too.
Next stop was Merci Dessert Café in the same area in Streetscape, Cebu City. Just across from the Seoul Black, Restaurant.
This Café offers lovely delectable cakes ,tarts, macaroons and croissant. They also served tea and coffee.
We ordered 7 types of Tarts and 2 pots of Tea for everyone to share and we want to try each kind of tarts. It was so funny also that we loved to try the fancy teapot but it's not working well for us,😅.. We are spilling the tea all over the floor because we still figuring out how to use it. But so far, we manage to drink some of the tea despite of pouring some of it on the table and floor 🤣 .
And for the Tarts, they are all beautifully crafted and definitely delicious.
Here are the Tarts that we ordered:
Chocolate Almond Tart
Strawberry Almond Tart
Almond Tart
Strawberry Chocolate Tart
Royal Chocolate Tart
Fruit Tart
Shine Muscat Tart
For me, the best tarts are the fruit tart, the royal chocolate tart, and the green grape tart. Though all of them are delicious, there will always be one who stands out among the rest.😊❤️
If you want to check their Instagram page you may click here
And by the way, all their Tarts are only costs 250php each ( or around $3 USD)
This was the Teapot I was talking about. Fancy huh? Have you seen the movie Beauty & Beast? This was an inspired teapot from that Disney movie. It has face because it was a real person but also cursed because of the Prince. If I'm not mistaken,😅 I need to do researched first about that , actually. But anyways, this is too cute.
These lovely ladies made my day extra special. We had so much fun chit-chatting while dining in.
Even their teacups are exquisite. This place is neat and tidy , which I absolutely love. It is intended to be simple but classy and sophisticated.
It wasn't just a full tummy that day; it was also the bond and laughter I shared with my friends while enjoying a wonderful dinner out ( an early dinner for me ). 😁
Xoxo,

Hi @chinito how are you? , Can I ask what are you trying to point out?? Hehehe, yeah all of them are yummy 😋.
oh, u mean the lasagna thing? its just that lasagna is also a layered food, but its Italian and the layers are mostly pasta and tomato sauce (also, being a westerner. i know Italian food more.. although, Korean food is very popular in hawaii)
i guess the SAMGYEOPSAL looks nothing like lasagna, but the layer theme is similar..
Oh you meant the Layered meat 😊, no its not same as lasagna 😁...thou lasagna is really good too. hehe

Everything looks incredible, that restaurant certainly put a lot of investment into the design and interior too. I have always loved Korean flavors, but as a vegan, it's always been tough for me to order dishes at Korean restaurants, as I find everything is already partially prepared. In Siem Reap, Cambodia, there is a tiny Korean cafe that makes everything from scratch, and able to make substitutions, so that is where I was able to have vegan versions of popular Korean dishes.
There are also North Korean restaurants in Cambodia too, owned and operated by the North Korean government, a very strange experience you must do if you're ever in Cambodia.
Wow! That's incredible, good to hear that there's a Café that serves Vegan version of Korean dishes. I would love to try it too.,
Yeah, the aged meat and side dishes are amazingly delicious.
Thank you so much for dropping by @justinparke . .
