We have an ongoing joke that exists around here that is probably a thing all around the world around when we say "Are we allowed to be regular sick or is everything still Covid?" A lot of people are ill right now, and one of them is me. Nobody will go to the doctor or hospital though because they know that if they do test positive for Covid that there is nothing that the doctors can do for you and all that is going to happen is that they will inconvenience you and all the people that you have been around and that live in your building.
Everyone I know and 90% of the country is vaccinated at least 2 times so either the vaccine is going to do its job or it doesn't work at all.

My illness is a strange one and reminds me of the 18 years or so that I was a smoker. I wake up each morning with a cloud in my lungs and after about an hour of being awake and coughing a bit to get it all out of there, that's it for the day. I then feel fine for the remainder of the day although I do feel tired. I don't know if the fatigue is just me being lazy or some sort of illness-related thing. I have always been a bit of a low-energy person anyway especially if i sit and stare at computer monitors all day long... which is my job.
If i take a capful of this and just wait 30 minutes my issues go away. It was funny at the pharmacist because I asked for expectorant and initially she gave me a bottle of something and said "herbal style" an I handed it back and asked for "real medicine."
When I send messages around to the other people I know basically everyone has a sinus issue of some sort they same way that seasonal illnesses used to travel around with everything before the word decided that a little bit of a runny nose means that you have a life-threatening disease or even worse, that you are going to kill grandmas.
I stay home for the most part not because I am concerned about spreading a virus that I do not believe I have but because when I am feeling a bit under the weather I tend to stay home anyway. Most of the people that I know are doing the same thing. If I do have Covid and I really hope that I do, and this is all that it does to you then I'm not all that worried about it anyway.
I know one particular animal that is quite pleased that I am spending time at home and she even has her new squeaky carrot to hang onto while we watch a bunch of films. At the moment I am halfway through the new Ghostbusters film, which so far, has been pretty good.
I just think it is kind of strange that basically everyone I know is sick right now but everyone has the same opinion about going to get tested - they aren't going to do it and this is a real problem. Since testing positive results in nothing good for you and only bad things for you and those around you, most people are afraid to go get a test and this isn't a good thing now is it?

When there's little to no choice, we blame it on something nobody knows what the hell is it, or even exist.
When we have something we don't know to blamed, or even exist, we can create something to fight the don't know what, in order to sell to the country for tax payors money.
There's no more common flu now. "They" need the numbers to continue selling needles. Keep well buddy. A bottle of warm stout at night, sweat it all out, that's what I would do. Best natural medicine 🤣
funny you would say that about the booze. There was a time that I had an illness many years ago that I just couldn't shake even though I was doing what they tell you to do with getting lots of rest and drinking lots of water and what not.
One day my friend has his birthday and insisted I go out and I got super drunk off whiskey that night. The next day I felt better. Behold! The power of alcohol.
Absolutely I'm sick now and not go to the hospital. Because it was a sign of Corona and I was stay in my bed only. I get enough to sleep and fully energy to eat. That will be perfect.
well i hope your recovery is as simplistic as mine. For me I still have symptoms in the morning but by the afternoon I feel normal. It's very bizarre because illnesses I have had in the past all of my life didn't behave like this.
The majority of the folks here got sick 1st week of January and Feb. We got sick too with flu like symptoms, never knew if it was Covid or not but it wasn't bad as we are expecting.
But since we are working remotely even if we are sick still we are required to work :(
it's true that so many people are sick right now, I have experienced it myself, but what's the matter, just stay at home, hope it gets better soon, and you also hope you will recover completely as before, I hope there is a miracle behind all this.
One can’t even cough normally anymore in public without people looking at you weird like you’re manufacturing COVID in your throat. Like someone can’t just cough anymore? Crazy.
Yo gooddream been a minute. Bear huggS
The other day I coughed at a bowling alley just because i swallowed my water "wrong" ... I'm sure we've all done it. The looks from the people i didn't know in the bowling alley spoke volumes about how everyone just assumes that any normal body function is going to be a horrible disease. I'm one of those guys that is photosensitive and bright lights or a sunny day will strangely make me sneeze. This is not a good feature to have right now.
I got Covid symptoms on New Years eve and felt crappy for like 10 days. Then after a clear test, I waited several weeks and got a booster vaccine shot.
I got so sick after the booster, omg. It was worse than my entire covid experience, but condensed to one day.
But yeah, everything is so messed up. If you so much as cough, everyone assumes you have it.
Have you gotten one of those antibody tests? I would like to get one of those rather than the PCR which I have done many many times and always tested negative.
Just a speculation on my part but if we were to antibody test on the level that we have PCR tested, I think we would find that almost everyone has already had Covid at least once - the jury is still out (I think) on whether or not you can get it more than once. If you know differently tell me about it. If we look online we of course get a no and yes answer to anything covid related.
I haven't, actually.. The only tests that I've gotten have been the at home "Binaxnow" lateral flow antigen tests.
As for getting it twice, I don't have absolute proof, but I know 2 people who got it in the first wave before the vaccine was out. Then they got both got vaccinated and were fine until omicron came around, then they got it again. Interestingly, both people who I talked to were not boosted, but had 2 original shots.
When I got it in December, I was in the same situation. I had gotten the two initial shots, and I was actually scheduled to get my booster at a local CVS like 2 days after I started getting symptoms.
I think almost everyone has gotten Omicron at this point. We have been so damn careful. I still don't know how we got it. It is just that damn contagious!
well let's just hope that what I have been hearing about Omicron being the "good one" to get is true in that it is mild and has very little chance of killin ya.
Amen to that bro
My wife and I were in a position a short time ago that we were trying to decide if we were sick enough that we should go get tested or if we were just going through some kind of seasonal thing. Even ultimately decided not to go get tested. We had some plans for the weekend and didn't want those to get blown. I think now that everyone has had the chance to get the vaccine or not it is less of a big deal. It's time to move forward. People aren't dying like they were, so I say let's go and let natural selection handle the rest. Everyone I care about is protected (if you believe in that sort of thing...).
I think the world is headed that way for a variety of reasons. We are well past the "freak out!" portion of Covid fear here in Vietnam and I think the moving on part will begin very soon. Thank god.
Glad to hear you and your wife were ok in the end.
Yeah, I agree with that. Thank you.
looks like the thai doc says before, coming future everyone will get the illness just the matter of serious or mil. Or even like normal coughing only.
You make a good point. Same situation in my area. When people have any kind of cold or flu they're reluctant to seek help in case it's covid and suddenly their life is turned upside down. Potentially forced in to a camp hospital and health department chasing you and your colleagues at work told to stay home blah blah blah. What a clusterfuck the world is now!
Exactly. Some people I know that were just around or at a location the same day as someone that tested positive were forced to stay at home and not go to work. Their neighbors, despite not being involved at all were forced to do the same. This has died down a bit as of late but it still happens from time to time.
It's flu season, so it isn't unexpected. Covid or not, I wish you speedy recovery
Now everywhere whenever someone, straight away people will said Cough = Covid, Flu = Covid 😐😐
I don't even goes to a hospital whenever I got a symptom. I just do my own test using the self-test kit, if found positive, I'll inform the HR team that I will be working from home. Else, I will be going to work as usual
I'm a comic writer and new here.. can I post my comics on here, or just cryptocurrency related stuffs?
for better chances of engagement it would be a good idea if you posted it in a relevant community. I don't know what to suggest about comics but surely there is an art community out there somewhere. Have a look around at the various communities and see what you can find.
We're all sick here in Pramaoy, Cambodia, too. Supposedly they say Omicron is taking over, and from what I hear it's very mild, so whatever sickness is going around is a lot stronger, I suspect the seasonal flu. Temperatures recently dropped and it's been raining more than usual, so I hope it's okay to still be normal sick too.
hooray for the return of "regular sick!"
