RE: ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #87: For The Love Of Instant Noodles

I still can't get over the hot cheesy seafood flavor, haha. What is the most popular seller in your shop, I'm curious? Do you have foreign brand noodles there from nearby countries like Indonesia? Here in Cambodia foreign brands are often the same price or cheaper than Cambodian brand noodles, I assume because Cambodia doesn't have the technology and massive factories to produce things in big quantities at low prices.

Here it's mostly Mama brand noodles from Thailand and IndoMie, certainly none of the wild flavors you have in the Philippines. Funny how a country's history greatly impacts the cuisine, makes me realize how much Hawaii and your country have in common. After WWII Hawaii became addicted to SPAM and hot dogs, so now they are part of the local culinary culture. I never knew fried chicken and spaghetti was a thing until your country created the combo, haha.

Hahaha... I think it's indeed a Filipino thing? We do have some foreign brand noodles in the international section in some supermarkets. Though there are some Korean or Japanese shops in some places. I haven't fund any Cambodian noodles here, though.

I guess the Philippines is pretty much a mixture of various cultures including food. We even have our Filipino version of Spanish foods like chorizo, paella, empanada among others. ^^
