They dont make cameras like this anymore. My mom in law gave this classic camera to me a while ago. I have been planning on using it for a while now. Nowadays, mirrorless cameras have taken over the world and no one used this camera anymore.
Yashika MF 2
This camera uses film and is a couple of decades old. When I was a little boy, my parents used to use this type of camera to take photos of me and my family.
One thing to be really careful is the film.
If a lot of light gets to the film, parts of the film wohld get a lot of light exposure and gets damaged.
The back part of the camera
You have to buy rollls of film. Each roll of film only takea around 24 pictures at max. There is no screwn behind, so you won’t know it the pictures you took are good or not.
The battery
Two AA batteries needed to power this. These cameras were made in an era where most gadgets at a point in time still used batteries.
Holding this feels amazing. A part of history in my hand.
The only dilemma now I face is if I bought a roll of film and took pictures with it, how do I get them out? There used to be these studios where you brought the film rolls to and they do all the processing. After the digital era, all of these shops have been wiped out.
The view finder
Those days, you do not have a digital screen to look at and rely on the view finder to make sure that the photos of people or scenery are in the grid.
The original casing
I will try to take photos with this and see if I can get good photos out of these. Have a great day. Did you have a camera like this when you were young?

I remember that my mom had a camera like that before. I remember they had to develop the films. I'm also curious if they still do that nowadays. Can't wait for you to use it and have the photos printed. Have fun using it! Cherish your gift. Have a wonderful day!
