Hello my loving Asean Hive community,

Today our family received a box and a pack from my father's home town. With that box and a package, my aunts and my grandparents sent it to our family. My father's home town is in the same state as our family. But it is far from the city where my family lives. My family used to visit my father's home town once a year. However, due to the covid-19 situation, our family did not visit the town for two years. However, my grandparents and aunts send these boxes to our family every year. When winter comes, my father's home town has a lot of local food. That is why my aunts and my grandparents sent them to us.

It's very heavy when I hold the box. First, I opened the box. When I opened the box, I saw a lot of oranges. There are many orange growers near my father's home town. There are also orange orchards. By winter, growers can pick oranges. By this time, there were many orange vendors in the market in my father's Home Town. These oranges are very cheap and healthy. This is because these oranges are grown naturally without the use of pesticides. These oranges are a local winter fruit from my father's Home Town. For my family, my grandparents and aunts used to send me these oranges every year. These oranges are neither too sweet nor too sour. It is the best taste for making juice. I'm thinking of making some snack using these oranges.

When I opened the pack, I saw three things. The first is something put in a single glass bottle. At first I thought it was Honey. Actually, it is not honey. The contents of the glass bottle are mustard seed oil. This oil comes from the yellow flower plant I showed you. Our family uses mustard seed oil as a medicine, we do not use it for cooking. Mustard seed oil is used by our family for stomach aches and pains. This oil is very useful for me because I often have stomach aches.

Another thing I found was yellow powder in a bag. These powders are turmeric powder. We use these turmeric powders in cooking and as medicine. My mother used to take these turmeric powders with a teaspoon every day. These turmeric powders are very expensive in my town and the quality is not as good as my father's home town. That's why my aunts give more to my mother.

The last one is wrapped in banana leaf. When I opened it, I saw a glutinous rice cake. It's a winter food in my state. In the town where I live, the rice cake is easy to buy, but the taste is a little different. The rice cake sent by our grandparents smells more sesame. And it tastes better. I prefer the rice cake sent by my grandparents and my aunts. I will soon make a snack using the oranges sent from my father's home town.

Wow! What a good score, I would be just as happy to receive all those things. I didn't know you have mustard oil in Myanmar, I use it sometimes in Indian food, but only very small amounts because the flavor is so strong. A customer used to buy it from us and say she put it in her hair to keep it beautiful and soft, have you heard of anyone putting mustard oil in their hair before?

In the country where I live, mustard oil is used as a medicine oil. It can be applied to the abdomen when it is in pain or in the area of the abdomen. Mustard oil is not used in cooking in our country. I have never known that this oil can be used for hair. In the country where I live, coconut oil is used for hair.

Finally I saw your teddy bear ☺️. Just kidding. I can see like now is the season for orange right? I have not seen mustard oil nor use it before. Something new to me. So do you need to steam or grilled the glutinous rice before eat?
