From Cold Turkey to Warm Tea - aka Hypersensitivosaurus Drinks Herbal Tea straight from his own garden

hypersensitive_toes.png

Hypersensitivosaurus strolled through his garden, locking his eyes and other overdeveloped senses on the tiny tea plants in his recently installed veggie garden.

This little story is a follow up to yesterday's write up Hypersensitivosaurus goes Cold Turkey - dreams of raspberry pie and buys eggs for Hive

Although a handful of plants had popped out of the earth, recently, thanks to the copious amounts of water falling from the sky, they were far from ready to harvest and witch-brewing into a warm, healing drink.

And then it hit him:

Why not go for fennel tea instead?

There was plenty of fennel around, growing wild, among the grass, brambles and the abundant mimosa trees. And where the latter was multiplying like rabbits and could be considered a plague, the fennel itself was easy to pluck and turn into a healthy brew and it added to the green landscape, healing by sight alone.

Hypersensitivosaurus just had to make sure that he rinsed the possible pee off it. It wasn't unlikely that Mildly-Mannered Wolf or another canine or feline creature had marked their territorium out here - eventhough they knew it belonged to their friendly giant lizard buddy.
Or, perhaps, they just had to relieve themselves, without time to make it back to their own pissing places.

Where, yesterday, he could only feel sorry for himself, Cold Turkey had now made place for warm tea.

No matter how much he liked his big bird friend, he didn't like to feel like it. Empathizing with someone was one thing but doing it 24/7, like the day before, feeling utterly miserable, was another story.

Minutes later, slowly sipping the warm fennel tea from a stone cup, Hypersensitivosaurus started thinking of his feather friend, Cold Turkey, once again. He wondered how she was doing. Hopefully not as poorly as he had been the day before.

Right that moment, he decided to invite her for a cup of herbal tea one day soon. Who knows, it might have an healing effect on her too. He just had to make sure not to pour her too much tea, otherwise she might dissolve into nothingness.

Cold Turkey - ( Too much ) Herbal Tea = 0

As is usually the case, this story was based on my real life. I actually drank fennel tea, from fennel plucked from my garden, yesterday. I drank other ( Spanish ) tea ( from Sevilla ), just now. It's day 2 without coffee and I'm feeling way better than yesterday. Eventhough I didn't sleep great, I had a bunch of ( mrs. ) mosquitos inside my mosquito net and I had a headache yesterday night, I woke up earlier than expected and quite fresh ( highly uncommon for me ).
There's also actual plants sprouting at the spot where I planted two tea plants, weeks ago. I'm just not sure whether they are the actual tea plants or wild seedlings that ended up in the earth or were already there, waiting to be fed. It's exciting though and I plan to post another garden update soonish.

Have an amazing day and take it easy with your coffee intake.
Tea can be very nice too ;<)

The picture above this post is a cut out of an art work, that I tried to sell as an NFT, over a year ago. More on that in Hypersensitive Toes I felt it fit this story and decided to use it here, as an illustration.

Fennel is one of my key ingredients in a good homemade chai. That is one of the few beverages that can satisfy a coffee craving, but chai is super sweet, hardly a health beverage even though all the herbs and spices in it are really good for you.

I can't wait to see if you have tea plants, or not. My favorite food is lahpet, a Burmese pickled tea leaf salad. I've had some success with pickling my own tea leaves, only done it twice, but already honing in on the Burmese flavor. I think it's so cool that you can eat tea leaves after you drink them.

Thanks for all the info. My tea plants aren't doing much as of yet but I'll be patient and keep treating my li'l garden with love, making sure to pee there, regularly ;<)

Lahpet sounds yummy!

And oh man, where is that file you sent me. I was unable to beam it over to my Kindle, so it's lost somewhere in Downloads. I buy music via Bandcamp and never see it again, because, downloads...Ohhh I love this!!! #Hypersensitivosaurus Drinks Herbal Tea straight from his own garden

I can see where this morphed away from children's book to Adult - love it:

You have a memorable character here doing surly and endearing things, no matter what the reader's age!

I will send the second edition to you asap.

Great to read this and thank you for your kind words. I do like to think that this is indeed the case :<)

Hi!! Tea can be very nice too, I agree with you. Had to limit my coffee intake again, reduced it to once a week (I pair it with very special occasions, like meeting up with my grandma or a friend). But I've been having tea once or twice a day; found a cinnamon and citric one that's got me hooked! I love it and could drink it forever and ever. Or until I get bored and switch on to the next sparkly thing hahaha

Hola amiga,

I had my first coffee in 6 days ( as mentioned in today's post ). Coffee is anxiety inducing for me and my stomach doesn't seem to be too happy with it either, let alone in the morning.

I drink plenty of tea as it's the only thing I drink, aside from water. Cinnamon citric tea sounds lovely!

xx

There is something so healing about the CUP that we sip our herbal brews from. I'm glad that Hypersensitivosaurus took sensible precautions to rinse the pee off 😆 and that the herbs warmed and nourished his emotional life and not just his body.

Hi there, Marieke! Nice to hear from you :<)

Yup, I should probably rinse my own pee off my plants from now on, as I like to gift it to my fruit trees and veggie garden ;<)

Um abraço!

The story is a good one! I like Fennel tea, in fact most herbal type teas. And green, don't forget green, my go to tea. I might just make a cup now!

Cheers mate! Tea is awesome and there's so much more than the boring Earl Grey and Ceylon that my mom has been drinking for decades now and that I grew up on. In fact that was probably just Earl Grey. Suffice to say that my mom struggles with change.

My neighbor talked me into drinking a coffee, after lunch, today. It was my first coffee in three days. I don't regret it. It tasted very good.
I think I can make my way to drinking coffee every now and then and no longer in the mornings.

To be convinued...

Coffee is a powerful and insidious beast. I am sure you will continue to tame it though! I am probably more addicted to white tea but pretty much anything leafy in hot water and I am sold!!

I almost tamed it. I was kind to myself and decided to enjoy a single coffee, today, at my twin sister's place.

I never heard of white tea before. Will look it up.

Cheers!

Oh, white tea is smashing!! I am hooked!

I run a Shopping Centre so the lure of free coffee has me now addicted. It shall be a long time before I go for the fennel tea like Hypersensitivosaurus . haha

So you're the guy behind DCity ;<)

I had my first coffee in 6 days. Let's see if I can keep it up. Pretty proud of myself.

I wish I had Gerbers Lambourhini fund. 🤣🤣

Haha! He sure managed to trick me into spending loads of Hive on his game. I never spent so much on a single game in my entire life ;^)

OOH, I was recently reading about licorice tea helping with sleep as it sorts out your adrenals/cortisol. I make a tea from fennel, peppermint and licorice - so good. Wild fennel is an absolute herbal resource for you! @riverflows

Sounds yummy and healthy in the best way possible!

My plant app told me that the fennel in my garden is sweet fennel, which you should use to make oils not drink as tea. Can you confirm that I should not drink sweet fennel tea? :<)
