Haha, thanks. I do really feel stupid though. Everything else I've ever joined - facebook, twitter, reddit, discord, various forums... I've always gone looking for some LEGO. But not here. And it makes me wonder why?
Maybe it's because Hive is more of a DIY place to me, and LEGO (in my mind) has over the years changed from building something from a lot of the basic pieces into following instructions to build sets that include bunches of special pieces which I don't have? Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of those sets, especially the Creator Expert sets (I think they are called) with interesting buildings that connect at the base to build your own city. But... building my own things, and seeing others' "freehand" creations, will still be the best!
Well, I joined the community. Now let's see if I can find some space to pour out my bricks and build something to post!

I mainly build Lego Technic as you'll see if you scroll back through the community, large sets of thousands of pieces, motors and gears and all that...But I have a pile of bricks that I freestyle with and I love doing that also. Many hours are spent with tea or coffee, snacks and my box of Lego.
I grew up with Lego, but my parents couldn't afford to buy it new so I had no sets, just jumbled parts. I didn't mind though, we had fun all the same and made (to my young mind) some amazing things. Now I have no money problems (within reason) I buy sets. Sure, I still have to justify the purchase and don't just buy what I want when I want (in anything) but I don't feel guilty buying expensive sets because I have worked hard for the ability.
