okay, thanks for clarifying that at least. Self-voting has been a discussion ever since we have had Hive/Steem. Personally, I think that at a certain threshold it shouldn't be done (whale status?).
A portion of my self-votes also goes into the reward pool of one of the longest standing contest on Hive. With over 200 contests and an average payout of around 20 Hive, I have given over 4000 Hive back to the community over the years. I also upvote around 200 Hivers on a daily basis with Hive.Vote.
The article you downvoted was a rather important one (I don't often write about politics) and I felt it was unfortunate that it was targeted.
