RE: Monomad and question

Jpeg tries to "optimize" your photo, it interferes with the data. I use RAW and the RAW converter to turn the photo into black and white. Here you can use the black/white color-mixer to adjust the colors behind the black and white tones. For example, you get more contrast into the sky by darkening the blue tones. So you can differentiate between colors that initially end up with the same grey-tone.
RAW gives you more options.

Yes, I’ve always done that before. He shot in RAW and translated into bw in Lightroom. There you can fine-tune the settings. At the same time, I shot in color mode initially.
Here I found the shooting mode in bw and try to understand what it gives me and what takes.
At least I see a bw picture right away in the viewfinder, and when shooting in RAW I do not lose color. If I shoot in Jpeg, then the colors are already lost forever.
Thanks for stopping by :-) And I appreciate that!

Out of habit, I use Bridge and the RAW converter. Never used lightroom, but I think it is quite the same thing. Most of the work I do with the RAW converter. I hardly use Photoshop. If I really would need Photoshop to heavily 'improve' the photo I rather delete it.

For a long time I used only Camera RAW. Lightroom is almost the same. Only there is an opportunity to work with libraries and some useful functions are added. I use Photoshop only to create a collage, if necessary for publication. I agree that a convector is enough to process the photo.
