City Shadows and Highlights: A #Monomad Photography Series

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been documenting the city through my photography, and I’m sharing it here on Hive. All my content lives exclusively on this platform and nowhere else. While I do share links to my Web3 posts on Web2 platforms like X, the actual content remains here on the Hive blockchain.

I believe this is something we can feel good about as we contribute to the platform by posting our content here. The advantage of having your content become immutable is a valuable feature.

Returning to the main subject of my post, I’d like to take this opportunity to add another record of my city explorations from the past few weeks to a photography series I’m contributing to the Black and White community and the #monomad photo challenge.

Two nights ago, I noticed an unusual beauty in the city sky that I don’t often see. While our air isn’t heavily polluted, a layer of haze or fog usually obscures the sky’s beauty at sunset. However, the sky looks particularly beautiful on certain days when the city haze is less prevalent.

It’s not perfect, but it’s certainly better than most days. So whenever I have the opportunity to catch this kind of moment, I always pause to bring out my camera and capture the view.

The part of the city in this view is called the Suntec City where shopping malls and offices are located. I took these shots from the bridge near the Nicholl Highway MRT station.

The following photos are random captures from my city explorations. I haven’t posted these images before, as I wanted to turn them into black-and-white shots for my #monomad entry.

Thank you for joining me on this visual journey through the city. I hope these black-and-white captures convey the unique beauty and character of the scenes I encounter. Stay tuned for more explorations, and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!

I'm always pleased to get curated by Visual Shots team. Thank you!

Nicely done. Though a little more blacks will enhance the contrast even more. Something to try when you shoot in the future.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll definitely consider that on my next bnw photos.

A well contrasted city in just the right black and white tones, certainly good captures.

Thanks a lot my friend. I appreciate your feedback.

It's a beautiful city, you documented some photography of the city center in your area, I like some of the architecture in some corners of the city, this is an amazing shot of my friend 👍😍

Thank you!
