People, Sculpture, and Architecture! My #monomad entry.

in Black And White2 days ago

I've been collecting photos over the past week to showcase in this week's #monomad entry, and I'm glad I've finally gathered enough for it! This is one of the activities I look forward to on Hive because I'm passionate about both learning and sharing through it. I appreciate the Black and White community here on Hive, not just for the curation I receive but also for the valuable feedback and advice from other contributors. The insights from fellow photographers have been incredibly helpful in improving my posts.

Photography has become one of my favorite hobbies recently. One reason I dedicate a day or two each week to it is the physical activity it involves. Not only do I get to exercise my creativity by framing scenes and subjects, but I also get to exercise my body through the walks I take while shooting. I suppose this is why I gravitate toward street photography... it allows me to achieve two goals in one activity.

For this post, I gathered a variety of subjects for my #monomad entry; these are architecture, sculpture, and people. All of these subjects were captured during my recent photo walks.

Architecture

A classically designed building in modern times. It's the National Gallery Singapore! My go-to shot for this type of subject is to look at a point where I can showcase the symmetry of the design.

Another building that I saw was the Arts House at the Old Parliament.

Sculpture

I feel lucky that the city is filled with plenty of modern sculptures scattered around. Some of them are both visually stunning and mind-bending.

Then, there are those reminiscent of the classical era, like this one.

People

Then, some are tricky to photograph on the street. The challenge is capturing life as it happens, without staging or planning. In my opinion, candid photography is one of the most difficult styles, but when done correctly—or with a bit of luck—it can result in a truly impactful photo. :)

In conclusion, photography continues to challenge and inspire me, offering endless opportunities to grow both creatively and personally. Whether capturing candid moments or exploring new subjects, the process always brings something rewarding. I look forward to sharing more of my journey and learning from this amazing community.

Nice captures bro. You can slightly increase the blacks and it will make the photos even better!
