When the harvest season is almost here, there is a unique view and it has become one of the local wisdoms in my area to go "kumiet tuloe".
Kumiet tuloe is the local language here which means protecting plants from sparrow pests that want to land on farmers' rice which causes rice stalks to break and damage farmers' plants.
Farmers here use various methods to prevent sparrows from landing on their crops. Some put up scarecrows, made noise from used milk cans, and even chased them away with loud shouts.
However, it seems that the methods above are no longer effective for today's sparrows, it seems like they already know that expelling him using the old method does not have fatal consequences for him (sparrow)
Currently, farmers in the fields are starting to use nets to ward off sparrow pests in the fields. Apart from this method being more modern, the impact caused by spreading the net over the farmer's plants is also better than using the old method. Sparrows that want to land on farmers' crops are trapped by nets, and they can no longer fly, so this pest is easier to control when harvest season arrives.
In this Monomad Challenge contest, I want to invite my friends to see some of Black and White photos caught by my camera; "Kumiet Tuloe", enjoy the pictures 😉
