Highway 69. Trans Canada Highway.
Northern Ontario, simply the distance was too great. Desolation. Situation: rapid deterioration. Motel Longbranch, erected in 1887 and closed in the mid 1990's. Opened again in the mid 2000's but a great fire sealed it's fate. It had an extra year. Kilometers South of Sudbury it lays, inviting nature in at an ever increasing pace. Mold and algae and decay flourish, hallway floors gone, rotted off. Bygone eras of road trips, lovers getaways and chance encounters. Echoes of extinguished passions. Family road trips. The feeling of the open road, to nowhere. A restaurant that serves none. There was an Ontario Provincial Police detachment a few hundred meters away, but the aching sentiments seem to have scared even the police away. The trashy Americana-motel-vibes somehow has it's own greasy allure, like some old closed down sleazy strip-club. A kind of forlorn feeling, romance lost into the despondency of time. Echoes of a bygone past, lingering melancholy, like desires that cast shadows through the years. Leaving only one thing, a question. Who's going to drive you home tonight?

These are great shoot you took here, it's such a pity the place got burn down by fire, it's looks like a wonderful place before the fire base on the interior design.

This location appears to be haunted, and it's a shame it's no longer open for business. Motels are profitable and provide a valuable service to travelers, families, and vacationers. It is my hope that it will be restored.
