RE: Just Another Day In The Neighborhood

Now it's just my favorite place to get shots of people getting together to stare at their phones.

I'm noticing more and more that this is the most common activity around me, regardless of whether it's solo or face-to-face with another person. Signs of human evolution? I don't think so, in my opinion. On the contrary.

Thank you for sharing with us in photos a little bit of Louisville with us!

You ain't kidding. Refused to get one myself for many years just because of how entranced everyone was with theirs. I think there's a case to be made for it being a sign of human evolution, if you look at it just right. Phones represent rather advanced toolmaking skills, and the distraction, deception, and manipulation that they are used for seems to indicate a rather evolved cognition. Whether that's adaptive or maladaptive is something evolution isn't particularly concerned about, it has a rather harsh test for that. Personally, I don't think it quite rises to the level of all that, on evolutionary time scales phones aren't even a blip. Give it another decade or two and something new will replace phones and we'll have and entirely new set of bad habits to deal with. Things to look forward to :)

Hey, thanks for dropping by and checking it out!
