Hi Jon
The indigenous community here do not call it Diabetes, They call it Sugar Sickness, and believe it or not it is more relatable and makes it more tangible for the communities and individuals to deal with.
It takes on a more than personal context and becomes a community based issue.
However now the rest of us live in a microwaved fast food society where it is so much easier to be enabled through bad habits and the good ones are not reinforced enough.
I do know that as I get more mature in years it is a definite commitment to stay as healthy and fit as possible, especially when I have a day job that is sedentary, sitting all day.
Ensuring I eat well is a must and making sure I move my body is a must.
I hope that you take better care of yourself Jon, there is much to be around for, and one cannot muck about with what we have.
It is time. Take out that Gym Membership, make sure you walk, push bike and above all else take good care of your diet.
I plan on being on this mortal plain for another 20 years at least and so should you :)
