I, too, am in the beginning journey of my mindfulness practice. I am 32 years old and have been a prisoner of my mind for over 16 years. I became a wife and mother all within 2 years and then moved up into the mountains. My life had taken a turn I never expected. I spent so much time in a negative light and once I saw it in my daughter, who isn't even 3 yet, and that was my awakening. That was my wake up call. The practice of mindfulness is a challenging one because there will be days where it just feels impossible, but it's important to not get discouraged and not beat down on yourself. Always come back to find your breath and remind yourself that this practice takes time.
Here is a book that continues to help me on my journey.
I am new to PEAKD and I am glad I came across this specific community. I look forward to sharing our stories of successes and setbacks, along with others who are going through this journey as well. :)Hi @christog9, your story is a beautiful one. Life tried to knock you down, but without even being aware, you did not allow it too, even on your hardest days, there was just something that kept you going and I'm grateful it did because here you are, taking control of your life, taking back some years you may have lost in sadness.
