Five years ago my partner and I had the opportunity to become caretakers of a large, mostly abandoned homestead in the mountains of rural Argentina. After backpacking for years, moving from farm to farm constantly, we were excited to put down roots. Once we got to know the land and the surrounding forest we felt truly lucky to have found this place. But, that isn't to say this process has been easy.
Now, five years on, we have learned a great deal about surviving and thriving on this land and today I wanted to share one aspect of the process, getting ready for winter!

Awww that the definitely the most beautiful video I’ve seen on the internet today.
First of all, May I request for more videos?
We don’t experience winter here but I sure have learned a thing or two from this. Your post are always informative and I love that.
I’m going to definitely want to live like this someday with my husband as well… this sounds peaceful away from everything else.
Thank you so much! your comments and perspective are always so appreciated.
To be honest I am a bit jealous of you that you don't have winter in Ghana! But, I am also trying to just enjoy where I live and appreciate each season.
I think it is great that you would like to live this way with your future husband! Someday I would like to write a post (or maybe make a video!) about HOW we found this place and ideas for getting access to land without buying it.
First time hearing this about Ghana
Yes! That would be great… but take your time , no pressure
Very beautiful post dearest @calendulacraft. Foraging for firewood is a very important skill. Your post is very informative. A beautiful home with a hardworking hubby and cuddly kitties. Lovely video to watch and well narrated. Thank you for sharing and posting in the wild foraging. 🩷😊
aw, I loved this comment and appreciate that you noticed my kitties!! I am glad to be a part of this new wild foraging community and excited to share more here. Especially when spring rolls around!!
That's wonderful @calendulacraft, you are most welcome and that's really appreciated. 🩷😊

Wow! Look at the rewards on this post! You are nailing it! Have not been able to keep up much with other folks posts but wanted to stop by say 'hi' and wish you well!
I am so glad that this video is doing well, it really took a lot of hours to edit all the footage. It was worth the effort though.
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi! I wish you well also!
Sending you all my best! Warmer weather is coming!
