I've thought about getting something similar because the size genuinely seems useful for travel stuff. And it's such a small handheld camera that you're less likely to cause any unwanted attention when running around. I have a big gimbal for DLSR cameras and it's such a heavy, annoying thing that I hardly take it anywhere.
I think that and a drone (DJI Mini model) would be the ideal combo for that run-and-gun style of shooting.
There's no doubt that a DSLR's image quality is much better than the Pocket, but the convenience is what made me consider getting one. As a hobbyist, the Pocket suits me perfectly, so I’m just enjoying using it.
Whenever I see something cool, I simply whip it out and capture the scene—something that isn’t easy to do with a DSLR or bulky equipment like a proper gimbal.
The Pocket is definitely worth considering! :)
I guess having more options readily available is good, but for someone who is just starting with this hobby, then Pocket is a good starting point in terms of equipment. And then gradually progress :)
