While there are people that naturally like expensive things and have the money to spend getting them, the majority of the people that go for expensive stuff are either those that just started earning big or don't earn at all but want to prove a point to society.
There are a lot of quality things that are not expensive. It all depends on where they are being purchased; if I can get a quality shoe in the market, there's no need to go to a boutique or mall to get them where the price would be tripled. But because of glam and paparazzi, some people would prefer to go to a fancy place with higher prices.
Yes, I agree with you. Sometimes people just knowingly hate cheap stuff because of their level of affordability. To them, buying thrift shoes or clothes is not something they would do and that's because they feel they're better than that. Well I think people have the right to flex their financial muscles, I think it's good, it's just that in our world nowadays, they make it seem like cheap things has no value.
As for boutiques or malls in Nigeria some of these guys are criminal and just want to make excessive money for doing nothing.
You are right.
Thrift clothes and shoes are no longer as cheap as they use to be. They are now expensive and some of this boutique gets some of their clothes from there wash, press and package it. So some people that hate cheap stuff might just be wearing packaged thrift 😂
Exactly, packaged thrift. Funny enough, these guys in the boutique understands hype and packaging, so the sell it to people with lots of money.
