I just love the 7-11 convenience stores in Taiwan, and during my recent trip back there I discovered they've really taken the stores to another level. When I heard about a Sanrio theme 7-11, specifically one of my favourite character Little Twin Star, I knew I had to pay a visit!
This particular store is near my old home and I used to come here quite often. Back then, it was just a normal boring 7-11, totally different from it's facelift now. Coming here was a double bonus for me as it brings nice memories for being back in my old neighborhood.
Anyway back to this 7-11. You can't miss it as they have the big colourful Little Twin Star characters outside. It totally melted my heart even before I got to the front door. Once I stepped inside, I was hit with a wave of pink walls, Hello Kitty could be seen from top to bottom, from the ceiling and to the table. She's not my favourite cartoon character but I know many people love her. I bet you Hello Kitty fans are feeling so jealous now!
Hello Kitty wasn't the only one who had her own table. Kiki and Lala aka Little Twin Stars who are the real stars here, bagged another table top. An oldish guy sat at one of the other tables adorned with another cartoon character. I think he was probably oblivion of how cute he looked surrounded by everything.
The Sanrio pink theme is all over the shop, even to the toilet doors. I wished I'd taken a peep inside to see if they'd extended to inside. That definetely would have made a great post for The LooLoo Community if it did!
I know it sounds a bit naff for a grown up to get all excited over a pink 7-11 convenience store. We all have that inner child inside us, and I grew up as a Little Twin Star fan when most of my friends were Kitty fans. I always struggled to find many Little Twin Star merchandise, whereas you could find Hello Kitty on pretty much everything from handbags to rice cookers, and sanitary pads to pain relief creams. Now I feel so much happier than Little Twin Star have their own 7-11 convenience store. Match that Kitty!!!

That 7 11 store has its super cute design. For sure, a lot loves to visit the store with hello kitty themed one. 😊
I'm Hello Kitty fans will love this store as well even though it's not the main character
I will also love that store. Eversince I'm a fan of Hello kitty😊
I don't know little twin star! We often have Sanrio themes drinking cups and allsorts of merch in 7/11 but I'd suggest we have more Doreamon fans.
Do you have 'Line' app, as their own characters are also crazy popular here.
The wife's favourite though is definitely Rilakkuma.
I've been in Asia far too long haven't I? 555
Line is very popular on Taiwan, in fact it's the dominant app. All the locals use it, as well as Line Pay, and most companies have their website and services linked to Line. If you don't have Line in Taiwan, you're pretty much doomed to connect with friends unless they use FB Messenger.
Little Twin Star was something I liked since I was a little girl, I guess it's a way of holding to the childhood times, which often seems to be the best.
What's your favourite character? Comon!!! You must have one!! As you say, you been in Asia for so long 😃
Awwwww this is so nice, and you were correct when you said “we all have that inner child inside us”
See me grinning from ear to ear while reading this and looking at the pictures🥰🥰
Now I feel nostalgic, thanks for sharing 😃
You can imagine how nice it was to be actually inside the store!
Sheessh! That is truly cute! Kawaii!
Yup! Absolutely 🤗
Thats crazy! xD
You know, I was so surprised and excited to see quite a lot of 7-11 in Copenhagen. It bought me a bit closer back to Taiwan as I never see them in UK.
7-11 is doing very good in Denmark and I got back to working in one as an assistent store manager :D
But 7-11's like the one you showed, is so far from what I know haha xD
Is that the new job you mentioned the other time? Hope all is going well with it
Yes! Its fine, just hard.
Visiting beautiful stores have a way of making me excited , I don't mind travelling just to visit such beautiful stores like the one you have shared.
Luckily I didn't have to travel too far to the store, plus it was near to where I used to live, so it was very nice to go back to the neighbourhood again
可愛到出煙😂
簡直可愛到暈😉
Awww, I so love the pink ambiance dear livingUK. We have seven eleven here in the Philippines but it does not have the same atmosphere in that 7-11 convenience store. Sanrio designs and all the colorful stuffs there even made it more wonderful. Surely whoever enters here is young at heart. And you look more beautiful on that angle. Best regards and I hope to visit a place like that here in my side. Have safe travels dear.
Thanks @pinkchic. It took me ages to teach my husband how to take an ok picture of me, I think I need to send him on one of those IG photo courses.
I think maybe convenience stores are so competitive in Taiwan, that they really have to up there game. Sometimes it's not usual to find two or three within 100 meters.
I see. How I wish Disney Characters would also be here in our place especially my ever favorite Mickey and Minnie Mouse dear LivingUK, Hehe. And I am seeing what’s inside the convenience store there in Taiwan, I could say that it is really more different when it comes to the goods being sold. Honestly, I am interested about the different sections you had displayed. Hehe. Thank you for your attention. Love yah always. !PIZZA
normal still the best for you. greetings from me
Thanks
The ceiling is so cute. I love it the most. This is what's good with 7-11 they are innovative and creative. And surely with this kind of strategy, they'll come a long way.
It certainly works for me, because product wise, they're all the same, so the only thing they can differentiate on is store décor
Its so cute! I want to also go there soon, i think i'll enjoy it 😊
It's just next door to the Philippines! Go! Go! Go!! 😉😁
Is 7/11 having some rebranding? This was a good marketing strategy too!
Here in my country, all 7/11 looks the same.
I like Sanrio counter/corner
In recent years some of the stores have become themed stores in collaboration with brands like Sanrio, Line and Snoopy etc. And some are called Big 7, which is like an integrated store with more services like bookstore , café and even a bar. But some are still pretty basic
Oh, I think it was not yet common in my country!
Have a nice day!
@livinguktaiwan Yes, for me such a distinguished store, it brings back many memories for my grandchildren who I haven't seen for years and you like Hello Kitty, from such a beautiful place, I imagine for you that you lived near there and now it brings back beautiful memories, now more than They have the big colorful Little Twin Star characters outside, I can imagine the way her heart fell, before she reached the front door. and that Hello Kitty is not his favorite character, but it struck him, even more when he saw Kiki and Lala, also known as Little Twin Stars, who are true stars. Well, I'm 70 years old, remembering beautiful moments also impacts me a lot. Hugs from Venezuela in South America, I wish you success and long life. Thank you for your continuous visits to my publications. successes
Thanks for dropping by!
Thank you for visiting me and also contributing quality posts. congratulations from venezuela
Two of my daughters are 7 and 11 years old now. We are calling them 7-11 for a while. They would have loved this store!
Ha ha! That's so cute, but then you'd have to change their names every few months after their birthdays.
I'm sure your girls would love this place, I mean which little (and old) girl wouldn't!!
Wow! I never thought 7-11 could be this cute. And I’m loving the pink colors around it too. Hmmm. I hope 7-11 here has the same cuteness too.
Are there many 7-11 in the Philippines as well? They are very much part of people's daily life here, maybe that's why the store put so much emphasis on them
Yeah. 7-11 is a famous convenience store here in the Philippines. Maybe it's the reason why they do not make much effort on them, and just stick on the usual set-up.
Wow.. It's my first time seeing a huge 7/11 with a different design ... Too cute 🥰..
I recall the ones in HK are all very small and have no character at all, they're so much better here in Taiwan
Yup. Just the ordinary 7/11 shop..
Oh wow, it looks so cute. I believe they have never done that in the Philippines yet. Thanks for sharing this @livinguktaiwan. Best regards!
Maybe one day Philippines will get its own cartoon themed 7-11 as well!!
That place seems like the great spot to keep the inner kid alive within all of us :D
Absolutely, and this isn't the only one. I got a few more to share as well 😁
I had no idea 7-11 had gone rogue! LOL How cool is that? The chain was a staple my entire life and you could find one on every corner. When did this new face show up? I would not want to try to pry a child out of there! Can you imagine? It would be like trying to walk through an art classroom and not sit down and draw.
I will admit that Hello Kitty was the popular cat in our house!
What did you buy? :)
It seems that these few years since I've been away from Taiwan, they've really up their game. Some of the stores are called Big 7 which is like a 24 hour mini department store with a bookstore, café , and even a bar!! However, I think these themed ones are so great, I was fortunate to find a few in town.
So you were a Kitty girl as well ? 😉
WHOA HELLO KITTY HEAVEN! hehe I had a hello kitty in a devil outfit tattoo like 20 yrs ago and I still love it even tho it's kinda faded. Thanks for sharing all this pink goodness...By the way...Guess who?
Hello stranger!! I'm so glad I checked your profile. Thanks so much for dropping by to let me know you're back
I thought I would track down some of my old faves and see who's still around!! Looks like the platform is doing well enough. I'm glad to be back right at home. Even if I gotta start all over for now, at least I'm here! It's nice to see you again 😁
Great colors in there. Looks fun and whimsical. Way cooler than the 7-11's that I frequented as a teenager.
The Taiwanese certainly know how to do a good 7-11, it's such an important part of daily life
It looks that way for sure. Very cool
Oh, this place looks really cute. I remember a cartoon about it when I was a kid and little baby toys. I hope I'm not remembering wrong.
I would be surprised if Sanrio made cartoons of their characters, it's such a big business so it makes sense to make the most not their assets
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa, that's why I love Asia. I would love to walk through all those streets and meet the cutest thing that can exist on this planet hahaha. Is it normal to always find this kind of thing? Or is it only in crowded places?
There are quite a few of them, mainly around the busiest areas. However, I noticed some in the quieter areas have also some, if not a lot of decor, like even a simple massive picture or cartoon nto make the store livelier
How cute! That gives quite a good vibe to the whole city in general, I love it! I think I will move to Taiwan _
Wow, this place sure makes Tesco's look even more dull and dreary
UK store's have a long long way to go before they're any where near this level, a bit like you driving a Lambo and me on a baby pedal car 😁
LOL. wanna race?

it's wonderful to hear that you had such a delightful experience at the Sanrio theme 7-11 in Taiwan. Your enthusiasm and appreciation for the store are infectious, and it's heartwarming to see how much joy it brought you to visit the place. It's always special when something from our childhood brings back happy memories, and I'm glad that this store was able to do that for you. Keep enjoying the little things that make you happy, and cherish those moments that bring a smile to your face.
Happy to be !ALIVE
It was certainly a very delightful experience, and I didn't realise I'd be so over the moon inside. There shop assistant must have been used with people taking photos inside all the time, he basically just ignored me 🤣
@livinguktaiwan! You Are Alive so I just staked 0.1 $ALIVE to your account on behalf of @old-man-chu58. (5/10)

Cute overload! Japanese housewives would love this. ...then again, I'm sure we have already have this somewhere in Japan.
I'm sure you do, pretty sure Taiwan is so influenced by Japan on so many levels]

My cousins and nieces would love to come here. I don't think, I've seen a Hello Kitty themed 7-11 convenience store here in the Philippines. Maybe there is, and I haven't just come across one.
I think if there was one, they'd probably make a big deal of it, just like they do in Taiwan, a lot of the bloggers blog about these special theme stores. And I'm pretty sure your family, especially the kids would love it here!
Amazing! I was blown away by 7-11 in bith Taiwan and Japan. I believe you can even have deliveries sent to a 7-11 in Taiwan for pick up also. My friend in Alishan does that. They really are next level and soooo much more than a convenience store. Mind you Imthink Imwould feel a bit odd having a coffee surrounded by so much pink! Haha
Yup, you can do so much at 7-11, online delivery pick up is one big thing. You can also send stuff across stores at a very affordable price, a lot of people use that when they sell stuff online, and I've heard some who trek or cycle around the island even onward send their personal belongings to the next destination to pick up the next day so they don't have to lug it around with them.
I would love to see you having your morning coffee in the store, that would make such a great photo 😄 Would you be tempted if I told you they do very good coffee?
I certainly would!
We're big on Hello Kitty in this house, having raised a toddler in Hong Kong.
One time, my daughter L (4), her friend M (also 4) and his baby brother J (3) were contemplating a big rubbery Hello Kitty face stuck onto the front of our fridge with suction cups.
[Baby J prods the face repeatedly, hoping to hear a squeak]
J: Why she don't make a sound?
[Long pause as three kids stare at the thing. Eventually M speaks]
M: Maybe it's because she don't got mouth.
I envy you in 7/11 Heaven!
PS I have a soft spot for Gudetama myself...
awhh!! The kids are soo sweet, and smart little M!!! People do say Hello Kitty can't speak because she doesn't have a mouth 😄
Gudetama is cute, I don't believe it's very well known in UK? How long were you in HK for? I imagine that was in the good old days which is long gone now
Yeah, I miss that Hong Kong horribly. More than some departed humans, I must admit! I was there from late 1992 (spent most of 1991 in Taiwan) until 1996 (was newly married and having a baby around the time of the handover). Then Beijing from 1998-2000 and HK again from 2000-2002 (returned to UK after that).
so cute.. i remember back when we went to taiwan on 2019 and I was having fun going from one 7 11 to another... this one is super cute!
I recall in 2019 they had some which had some nice decor, like a cafe area with bright designs, but I hadn't come across anything like this back then. Time for another trip to Taiwan?? 😄
yes i'd love to bring my little one there!
