The Start of a New Series
I should start my privilege series with a full disclosure: I'm no privilege scholar. And all privilege scholars agree: males have the privilege. The verdict is unanimous. The social science is settled.
But I mean to unsettle it! By the time I'm done with this series, I will have demonstrated, to any reasonable reader, that, in fact, it's females who have most of the privilege!

What Does "Males Have the Privilege" Mean?
If you're not entirely sure what the expression "males have the privilege" means, it's simply my way of combining the content of the two statements (a) male privilege exists and (b) there is no such thing as female privilege. As far as I'm aware, all privilege scholars champion both these statements, and their combined logical implication is that sex privilege exists exclusively on one side of the sex divide, so that males have all the privilege (or, in other words, "males have the privilege" just like "team x has the ball"). If you know of any privilege scholar who disagrees with either (a) or (b), please leave a comment. However, I would stand by the spirit of this post if it turned out there's some privilege scholar who believes female privilege exists (unfathomable!) but that men have more privilege than women.

No Such Thing as Female Privilege?!
If you’re a noob to the privilege literature, (b) might strike you as counter-intuitive to the extreme: is it really possible, you ask yourself, that privilege scholars believe that women can't have any privilege? Like, at all? How can that be! Well, an accessible and recommended piece to read that will give you the gist of it can be found in this 101 feminism blog. Yes, they are defining female privilege out of existence. And yes, I will bring it back to life ceremoniously in my future posts.
TL;DR
There is a 10 out of 10 consensus among privilege scholars that males have the privilege. In the coming posts, I will make the case that females have far more privilege than males.
