For some reason, since I can remember, I have trouble sleeping almost every night. If I'm not very sleepy, I'll have trouble sleeping. I have to be very sleepy. And if I don't set an alarm, I will sleep around 9 hours. I can't get very sleepy in 15 hours...
This means that I won't go to sleep after 15 hours, because unless I've done a lot that day (and sometimes even if I have), I won't be sleepy enough at that time. Therefore, I go to sleep, can't sleep, and will stay later and later every day.
If I wake up at 12pm, I'll stay awake till 4 am, try to sleep, not be sleepy, then sleep at 5 am, etc. And with a 25hr sleeping cycle, this means I'll start going to sleep during the day!
The way my body has started to compensate for this, lately, is by making me wake up before the 9hr mark, usually at 6-7 hours. I will, thus, be sleepy all day..... great work body? This means that when the same time comes later that day, I will be sleepy enough.
I went to sleep at 2:30 am yesterday, and right now it's 2 am and I still can't go to sleep. I'll probably have to go grab a tiny 2nd dinner and then go to sleep, and be awake, and roll in my bed for hours until my body decides it's now time to sleepo.
So either I'm cycling and sleeping 1-2 hours later every day, or I'm sleepy all day. I honestly don't know what to do, apart from maybe setting an alarm at 8 hours, or maybe doing wayy more exercise so I always come to bed super tired. Maybe both.
halp, i wanna sleepo :C my eyes are groggy but i can't just sleep... why, body!?
try melatonine an hour before bedtime
I kinda solved my sleep issue by... Sleeping at the same time everyday. Which I have been undoing these last few days but it was very good for a couple of weeks! Now I know the solution and can do it again.
Never heard of it but it's sold, and it's cheap, so why not. I'll do a tiny bit of research and probably buy some to test.
Your brain should produce it. But if it's not dark in your sleeping room or you lack tryptophane, levels are low and supplementing might help. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melatonin
good luck!
I died. RIP!! Turns out I'm allergic to beds.
I got a few pills. I shall try them I guess.
Good luck! You should stop dying all the time, must be strenous.
