Howdy again sir johannpiber! Yes, when I was a kid on the farm we worked 16 to 17 hour days 7 days a week. It was brutal. The only thing I can say about it is that it kept me out of trouble. All I did was work so I had no social life or any time for one.
Then when we built our real estate business we worked 12 to 14 hour days, sometimes 16 and we did that 7 days a week. We worked like that for 10 years before we took a day off. Oh, and that was 365 days a year, we especially had extra work on Christmas and all the holidays. It was insane. lol. No days off and never any holidays.
The children of our farmers had and still have to work a ot on the farms too, but nowadays it's not so hard for them anymore.
But you seem to have only been working your whole life long - that would be too much for me - I need more time off work than at work ;) lol
But you have my full respect, honestly, I am glad that I have a safe job and get my money each month :)

You only get paid once a month? No way. That can't be what you mean. You would have to have alot of discipline to make it last for a whole month. But yes, I was working like a madman my whole life and I hope I can decrease my work hours from now on. Maybe even enjoy some life!
That's normal here - we get our money once at the beginning of the month on our bank account. Of course, there might be some jobs where you get paid weekly or even daily, but I wouldn't know any.
Most of the things we have to pay monthly are paid in the first days of the month (rent, insurances...), so I don't see a problem with getting the salary in one piece ;)
I think we have more regulations about working times and such than you have over there, and it's not that easy for companies to fire employees.

Oh, very interesting sir johannpiber. Over here, unless it is a government job, anyone can be fired for anything at any time and there are no regulations about working times except that any time worked over 40 hours is supposed to be overtime pay.
I don't think people would put up with getting paid just once a month over here. Almost all pay is done weekly.
Yes, 40 hours a week is normal here too and every hour more should be paid better and more.
I think you are used of your system and we are used of ours, although I think our system is better for the employees.

Yes, it sounds like your system is better for the employees but our government jobs here are probably similar. It's dang near impossible to get fired from a government job here. So the government workers are famous for being lazy and not caring about anything because they know they don't have to.
Right, I could do almost anything, even go to jail, but still they couldn't fire me ;) lol
But that depends on what I would have done, of course, and although they could not fire me, they have other possibilities to punish me.
They are famous for that around the world and it might be true for many government workers, but times have changed and calling "all of them" lazy and not caring about anything is wrong.
