RE: Oh, how I miss this valley

I’m glad you rejoined. It is fun and does push one to comment more. You do wonderful with comments.

I’m really one who doesn’t normally give long comments but I am trying to make a bigger effort to expand my remarks. Not quick & to the point as is my personality. :) It’s also got me in trouble .

Good morning Jo,

I usually don't make many words - if you ask me how I am I would say "good" or "bad" and that would be all. My wife could probably talk about half an hour if she was asked that question ;) lol

When I joined in the League I began zu write longer comments, because I didn't like these 2-word-comments I got, and I have to admit that I also wrote sometimes only "beautiful photo".
But then I started to write longer replies and comments, which made some lazy people, as I have been one too, to write longer comments next time too ;)

I’m the same. Not one for flowery or long speeches or replies but I’m trying. LOL. I am Always amazed at how some folks can write forever on a subject and really just keep repeating the same scenario In different words. I guess it’s a gift. 🙂

Another nice day shaping up here in Eastern Canada. Birds are singing and all is well except for the threat of the virus pandemic.

I hope your day is the same Johann. Keep well!

A gift? I know some people which I would call annoying, because they cannot stop talking. The good thing about such people is, that I don't need to talk myself though - so it might really be a kind of gift I think ;) lol

I have had a busy day at work and it stopped raining, but the weather forecast says it will rain a lot in the next few days, but I don't mind, because we need some rain after many dry days, and now everything will get green as it should be in Spring 🙂
Tomorrow is a holiday and next week I'm working from home, but it will be like holidays ;)

Take care Jo 🙂

Haha maybe gift isn’t the right word. I know a few like you mentioned and you couldn’t get a word in if you wanted.

What is the holiday tomorrow? It used to be known here as May Basket day but that seems to have gone by the wayside. May 1 is an ancient Gaelic celebration of dancing around the Maypole and other festivities.

Have a good one Johann 🙂

Sometimes I'd like to have that "gift", when I have to "entertain" visitors or colleagues in our company, but I haven't, so I try to never be alone with people I don't know ;)

Today is a holiday here - May 1st is our Labour Day and in normal times there would be many celebrations. I don't like such celebrations anyway where mostly the politicians praise themselves, so I don't mind that almost nothing is happening this year. Also, in "normal" years every village has a "Maibaum" (May Tree) - I think it is similar as your Maypole and people have fun and dance too.

Have a good day too Jo 🙂

I was wondering what kind of work you do Johann. Don’t feel you have to answer. I think you would do fine talking to anyone no matter the job.

Nice to know the May 1 celebration customs are still alive somewhere and practiced in a normal year.

Yes, I think there's no village which does not have a Maypole and a dance around the Maypole feast.

What I work? Hm, I thought I had mentioned it in a former post, but it might also have been in a comment.
It's funny that you ask this today, because today is May 2nd and exactly 35 years ago on May 2, 1985 I had my first day as a student in the school of my "company" which was and still is there: Link to Google Maps.
The job I have learned there was not my dream job - I have finished the school though, but never really did the job I have learned. I am still working in this area, but in the logistics department southern L-shaped building. I have done a few different jobs, but since 2012 I am responsible for the offices and buildings which my company owns or has rented in our whole state of carinthia. These offices are commonly known as police stations and a few times a month I wear my uniform and a gun ;)
But as said above this has never been my dream job, but it is a very safe and quite well paid job. This why I prefer to sit in the office and I'm looking very much forward to my retirement in about 6.5 years 🙂
