I am in the streets again and looking at life in the streets
Why 'Social Lens'?
It is called Social, because I am interested in everything related to humanity, how people live and act, what we do consciously and unconsciously, how we effect the world around us and treat one another.
Lens in this context refers to -- wait for it -- the lens of the camera I will be using to take the pictures of what I am seeing (that at least is pretty obvious...), but it also refers to my viewpoint - everything I watch and see is observed through my eyes. There isn't really a way around that of course, and as long as one is aware of that it shouldn't be much of a problem. After all, life is experienced individually and every point of view can add to the greater whole.
After the pandemic (although it hasn't really officially ended here) life has been getting "normal" again. But there is a big difference in how people behave. Some still stick to the recommended regulations (and even carry them out in places where there are not necessary like mask wearing in the streets) and others seemingly just want to return to a normal life. Although I guess we have to ask ourselves if this is a "new normal"? I guess also here there isn't just a straight forward answer. A lot of things have been like in pre-pandemic times especially in the open public spaces. Although there are still the marks (like signs) of social distancing which are now starting to dissolve and break down. While other things could be considered as new behaviors and rules which will probably remain in society for quite some time. This could be mask wearing in public transport, but also companies now offering much more flexible working hours as well as home office. So the verdict here is quite varied.
What follows are impressions of the street life here that could have been also taken in 2019. Or can you spot differences?
I like the real old normal better!
Lovely photos of lovely people.

which I think is quite understandable, and thank you!
I don't know what country this is, but the truth is, it might be that these people are already vaccinated hence the reasons why they're not wearing masks. In Nigeria here, COVID wasn't really a thing, as it never really had any major impact. This picture reminds me of how people walked on the road back then during the pandemic without masks.
the vaccination rate is something like 75% here in Germany, so most people I guess are vaccinated. But it is currently not mandatory to wear masks outside.
You did a great job pal nice meeting you.
WOW! Your expression of the "social lens" is great, saying that it is also social viewpoint, make it more understanding.
It is true, life is somehow getting to the way it was before the pandemic, but there are still some slight difference in some angles, like the cost of goods and services now in the market and the fact that some people are still living in fear that the pandemic has already put in them.
I know this fear has a positive impact and it also has a negative impacts, because now people are More careful in what they do than before.
thank you! I noticed similar changes as well here. I guess it has affected people very similarly on a global level
Yes, is true, most people are trying to coop with the change.
You are welcome
Photo shooting people in the street is fascinating @tobetada and yes you are so right, there are little indicators to show that it is 2022. Nice work.
thank you!
